Anyone heard if the promotion to NEPL has been confirmed ?
Presuming it is Burnmoor and Tudhoe but, to my knowledge, nothing has been announced.
Did they pass all criteria to go up ?

Be interesting too see how they both get on. Theyve been big fish in a little pond for a while now, especially Burnmoor.

Will be good to see Simon Davis from Tudhoe perform in a higher league has been a wonderful batsman over the last few years....

Bit different in the NEPL though compared to DCL

Not really, most of the clubs in NEPL2 are ex-DSL clubs that Burnmoor were generally beating a couple of years ago. The interesting thing in that league will be the bottom two places come September 2015 - there could be a lot of good money wasted by a lot of clubs in the panic to avoid relegation. I think Burnmoor and Tudhoe will both stay up quite comfortably.

Thats feasible but theres been a fair bit coin chucked around the previous two seasons comparison to what the same clubs were paying out only three seasons ago . As long as its sustainable its a non issue . NEPL 2 is a stronger league than the old DSL, teams have a lot more depth. Dont think it'll be as easy for Burnmoor to come in adapt to the new rules and dominate .

Interesting comments, but have Burnmoor and Tudhoe been confirmed as promoted to NEPL ?
On the same thread, there were 3 applications, I believe, to join the DCL. Has a decision been reached on these ?
Clubs will need to know soon so as to plan ahead, especially with relegation now in play !

They are both promoted. 1 up 1 down from next season. If team doesn't meet criteria then no one goes up or down (I.e. Doesn't go down to 2nd/3rd)

in 3 or 4 years teams will find their level. I do fear clubs will fold though as the less people now playing and its harder to make money from bars these days

Burnmoor and Tudhoe have as much coin as just about anyone, and I've no doubt whatsoever that they'll both stay up comfortably. Spending the silly money that clubs are throwing round these days is rarely sustainable, and the test is where the club is in 5, maybe 10 years time. If these clubs were spending a big wedge to win a league or get promoted then it might be understandable - but realistically, most are doing it as they feel it's what they need to do just to stand still. At what stage does that become dangerous? There are no shortage of clubs that have spent their way into trouble in the past, and I'll bet that they all thought it was a good idea at the time. It will be very interesting to see the fall out from the promotion/relegation system over the next few years and how clubs approach it.

To be honest I find the money talk dull its the way its always been just rather than signing a Test Player on huge money the clubs who have historically had a big money pro have reverted to signing 3 or 4 local lads , more so in some cases - just the way the games gone up here. Dont think clubs are actually spending that much more than what they have in the past to be honest, nor would I say stupid moneys being thrown around, the clubs with the exception of possibly Washington who are still a relatively new progressive club have generally always spent a pound or two on players. Think theres less of what you'd call average players getting paid in NEPL 2 and the better players are collecting a slightly increased packet.

?

By Tudhoe away will be fun!! Based on the fact nobody in their right mind would ever want to go there I can see them doing well, especially at home.

Have I missed something? I think its a decent place to play!
Must have improved in the past 7 or 8 years.

Last time I was there I spend most of their innings on the boundary getting heckled by 6 local 18 year olds sat drinking Special Brew with their shirts off.

Field was horrible too and the wicket was like rolled snot, although some in NEPL2 arent much better tbh.

NEPL Grounds are fairly good quality. Some improvements needed by all ok for that standard

If you are accepted into nepl2 I assume that means ground is ok for premier league?

Long term I see NEDL being amalgamated with DCL, forming one league with 3/4 divisions.
Some soul searching to be done and the requirement for clubs to have first and second teams will have to be waived.
Only other way is for clubs to merge ?

How many clubs will this leave NEDL with if correct?

They've lost Medomsley, coxhoe, bear park and now 2 more in 12 months
