I don't understand the 'big decisions' or 'anyone's guess' point.

We have a back six (GK, defence, and Cattermole) that picks itself - an absolute free pass for all of them into the team, even more so after Pantilimon's, Coates', and Bridcutt's performance.

In midfield, Rodwell will start again, and nobody did enough in midfield to displace Larsson.

For the front three, Johnson will be in the side.

He won't change the formation. So the 'big decisions' he has seems to be just Giaccherini or Buckley (and Giaccherini may be injured), and who to play up front - but Wickham's chances improved after tonight.

The problem is that there aren't enough big decisions for him to make.

Giaccherini is injured, Alvarez doesnt look anywhere near fit enough or ready for Premiership football and Johnson has been piss poor.

Swansea are a good side and will rip us to shreds if we play 4231.

I'm not convinced Buckley and Gomez are good enough for this level personally.
 
Got no decisions to make other than who plays on the wings.

I think Buckleys been canny, Normally has a go and wins us something in the wide areas.

Dont get me wrong, Johnson has far more ability but he goes through spells of doing nothing for weeks until he gets a wake up call then starts canny again.

As for Gomez, If Giaccherini is out we have no real option but to play him.

4-2-3-1 is what we need to play, Buckley and Johnson either side of Alvarez with Rodwell and Catts sitting.

4-3-3/4-5-1 is just not working
 
All he had to do was play his strongest side, win a very winnable game and create a bit of confidence going into the weekend. He didn't and now the team and fans will no doubt be nervous, which Swansea will love
