Just been talking to my marra and said that I and most of the Durham fans around us applauded the cricket like cricket fans do for both sides, some of the Warwickshire fans were less than courteous shall we say, I managed to keep my gob shut, mainly because I had our lass with me.

The 3 drunken yobs in the front row not far from us (we were row a seat 80 and 81), were just hurling abuse all day at our players and shouting that tedious "you bears" chant. The lot up near the back were just singing Birmingham City songs most of the day and "small town in Scotland" got an airing late on. I applauded both sides as it was a great game to watch, but that cannot be said for the Warwickshire fans round where we were sat, including one ignorant bloke sat behind us who said words along the lines of "it's good for Durham to win as they don't win anything" - Had to put him right about that. Very few of them stayed back as well and not one of them congratulated us on our win, yet the semi final plenty of Notts fans wished us well

Got down to Kings X at 4.30 on Friday but didn't make it to the hotel until 6.30 after a fanny on with buses, oyster cards not being in credit and generally shite advice from passers by we were asking directions from.
Got into my seat in the front row of the Compton upper on the Saturday just before play started, after the steward misdirected us, and I enjoyed the entertaining/nerve wracking cricket. Even if I was sat a bit too near Warwickshire supporters during their innings.
I attempted to go to Camden after the match, which took about an hour and a half, again after being given shite directions from people on buses, but once there had a very enjoyable night.
Came back today on Grand Central from Kings X, as we got there a bit early, we though we'd go for a pint, but couldn't actually manage to find a pub and ended up drinking in some bloody mexican restaurant, after being told in the bar that they didn't have beer on draft.
I was very impressed with London, and especially Lords, some great building and cracking pubs.

All in all a very confusing and misguided weekend. Either the cockneys don't know where anything is in London or they thought it was great craic trying to get me lost.

Proud to be from the North East!

You couldn't find a pub in KX?

There's a massive Wetherspoons!

Currently in the Victoria in Durham after just getting back.

What a f***ing brilliant weekend! Got to Bayswater about 5 after stopping off at a few hostelries on the way to the hotel.

At the game I saw Marko but didn't speak. Thought we were going to throw it all away but obviously we didn't.

Only downside was that f***ing blaydon races song.

Hamilton won on Sunday to cap a great weekend. Will post pics & videos when I get the chance.

just posting what I did on a thread before seeing this.

After stupidly missing 2007, I was like a bairn at xmas waiting for this moment to see Durham at Lords.

3am drive down to London, arriving at Finchley Central about 7.30am all parked up etc and bus over to Lords arriving about 8.30am. Weather thankfully better than it was an hour or so earlier as it was belting it down.

Into the ground we go and we both had a sense of massive pride between ourselves and the familiar faces we saw from Durham as if to say "it's great to be here". Watched the players warming up in the nets and you could tell they were very focussed and determined. Fair play to them they stopped and had a chat which sums them up really, proper good sound lads.

We had tickets in the front row upper grandstand and we were blown away at the view and facilities as well as the padded seat, all the Lords staff very helpful and welcoming to my wife who has mobility issues, they couldn't have helped her more if they tried.

Very happy watching us bowl very well in what was difficult batting conditions but we knew at the interval it would be tough to win. A special mention to Coughlin who I thought bowled very well, deserved a wicket.

We started our chase and my heart sank when Mustard was bowled, you could tell this wasn't going to be easy. Patel was causing us all kinds of problems and his 10 over spell was as good as you'll ever see, outstanding. Stoneman was class, attacking all the way and set us on our way after a tricky start. Collingwood and Stokes their usual class playing some very intelligent cricket and it just had to be Breese to finish it off in style, what a way to win.

Very proud moment to see Durham win at Lords, a moment we'll both never forget. Met some cracking Durham fans I've never noticed at the games before, and one thing I noticed from where I sat was the Durham fans in the Durham area seemed to be enjoying it and got behind the team well. The Warwickshire "fans" in the upper grandstand were rude, arrogant, smug and basically annoying all day, and the chant of "you bears" got tedious especially after random singles.

Seeing Durham fans so happy after the game was brilliant so far from home, great memories.

Headed away from London and up to our hotel, and drove home Sunday. Outstanding.

Well done Durham

Aye, days out don't get much better than Saturday. The only downside was not having your bags checked on the way in having stuck to the rules for once!!!
Great to see plenty of faces down there and it took longer to get to the bar stopping to talk than it actually did to get served. Atmosphere was cracking later on when the ale kicked in and we found our voices. Great that it was a proper game and not one sided or rain affected. As me mate said looking out over the pitch, "not a bad way to spend a Saturday afternoon really is it". As said before by others, proper North East side that we can relate to cos if ye don't know any of the players then ye probably nar one of the family!!!

Fantastic memories of a great win with great crack on a great day out. Thank you and well done Durham.

Sneaked plenty drink in us
Yes, I could tell!

Interesting point re KX.

When ever I used to go to watch SAFC in London we thought that there was nothing there and always spent time elsewhere in London. But within a square mile of the place there is all sorts. Walk up the Euston Road and once you get to Warren Street Tottenham Court Road opens up in front of you which leads down to Oxford Street etc. Baker Street is a 10 minute bus ride away. Lords/Marylebone is barely 15 minutes on the bus. A lot of Durham fans walked to and from Lord's on Saturday through Regents Park.

I was sat in row B seat 72 with my son. Them Yobs were a pain in the arse. We're you the lad from Wheatley Hill who drove down?

Aye, me and the missus :) - those yobs (I can't call them cricket fans) were a disgrace. Non stop loud mouths all day, clearly couldn't handle their drink and they were hurling loads of crap towards our players, then those idiots at the back singing Birmingham City songs, I just fail to understand the mentality of them, they sharp nicked off once we won though which was good.

:) hardly a secret was it.

Fantastic weekend

Went down on the friday night, went out and got lashed around Shoreditch.
Was woken up at 7am by some nasty thunderstorm on the morning which made me question whether we would get any play, eventually nodded off and woke back up at 9.45
Rang the prospect of play hotline and after they said everything was on schedule darted for the tube. Was staying over Bethnal Green so i had to change twice. Got to the ground about 10.50 just as Mustard took the catch for the first wicket.
Was sitting in the Grand Stand Lower so didn't really get any of the proper atmosphere but the view was superb. Little bit of bother at the end with some pissed up Warwickshire lads and some Durham fans but some fellas in white navy outfits broke it up before anything happened.
These Warwickshire fans were bell ends like. Glad they went home with there tails between there legs.
If anyone has never been to Lords, go. What an institution, beautiful ground, puts any cricket ground to shame. Went for a tour round the musuem at lunch and saw a talk about the ashes, was great.

Patel was the main man for them, Stokes did the right thing just blocking out, if he went then we would have lost. Also Boyd Rankin was shit.

Didn't stay around for the celabration, was at the other end and was taking forever so just walked back to St Johns for the tube. Lots of quiet Bears fans.

Proud of Durham, great win. Stokes was the star player for us, just proves what effect momentum and form means going into a final/run in. As proved with Sunderland last season.

Just found them very rude, arrogant and abusive. It was if Durham had no right to contest the final against them.

I've met some cracking opposition fans whilst following Durham (Somerset always bring the same faces up to Durham every year and they are great craic), but on every occasion I've found Warwickshire fans to be absolute bellends. Not one of them congratulated us at the end of the game, yet all the Durham fans 10-15 minutes earlier, gave Patel a standing ovation for his 10 overs of superb bowling. Such a different in attitudes and general class.

As you say Lords is a wonderful ground and we'll never forget that day in a hurry, the whole day was very enjoyable and it was a cracking final full of non stop action
