Seems to be a severe lack of decent promoters for bands up here also.

Having met and spoken to him only a couple of times I have to say he seemed a reasonably nice bloke to me. Having said that, I haven't handed over any dollar to him either. It's been a PR nightmare yesterday and today all over my social media with their staff have been mouthing off quite aggressively to anyone who's been slagging it off. Can't see him recovering from this one to be honest.

Been a few which have either cancelled last minute or gone ahead with not the intended lineup. I think with the festivals the promoters get ahead of themselves and book some huge acts but just expect the thing to sell out which will make them a small return. When the ticket sales do not go to plan is when the panicking starts kicking in and they end up having to slash prices to even get people through the gates and then also cut acts as cannot afford to pay them. Leaving either the festival being cancelled altogether or going ahead and being utter shit. There is a few exceptions to this mind, such as Northern Lights and Split.

Only half of the headline act Chase & Status played yesterday. Not sure whether that was planned, as it was "only" a DJ set. Someone said they were giving out free tickets to get people in and make it look busier.

Had a look on FB and the whole patter was about 'look how busy it is etc..'. This translates roughly to hardly anyone there..

Maybe's if the marketing had been done right more people would have known about it. I didn't have a clue and i'm normally aware of what's happening wrt dance tuneage nights.

In fairness I've got one but hardly wear it (maybe done so 4 or 5 times and never wear caps) but I had to buy it in NY as I burnt my head big time whilst over there and it was the only protection I could get.
