Can anyone recommend a good place to park? According to the stuff that was sent out with my number, the car parks near the race won't reopen till 2pm (the conclusion of the race). I was hoping to be away by noon, so those parks are no good.

I read it as, the car parks that are open just for the Race, will shut once the race is finished (2pm), I could (and probably will) be wrong like

Quite a pleasant route on a sunny day there like. Bit shit running past the beer gardens about 7 miles in mind.

Cheers mate, you might be right actually.

Is it pretty flat mate? PB Course?

Definitely a PB course (weather permitting) in my limited experience mate. No real inclines of any note and quite a downhiller to the seafront. Quite a pleasant coastline down there like.

Excellent, cheers mate

last year i got there about a hour early, plenty of parking around the nearby streets and could shoot off straight after.
i was on for a pb on this flat (but dull) course which seemed to involve an out and back on a dual carriageway that seemed to go on for ever. all was well until i hit the headwind along the seafront and that was that.
good event, well organised.

I've parked at the college for the last few years and always got out sharpish no bother.

Great race and very fast course (unless the wind is blowing)!

Never posted in this forum before but one of my marras directed me to this thread earlier. Sunday will be my second HM after doing Sunderland in may this year.

Looking forward to it, been doing some tough uphill runs as prep thinking it'll make race day easier on a flatter course. Did Sunderland in 1:44 would be over the moon with anything around that!

You'll beat that quite easily a reckon marra.

Good luck.

Went to enter an hour ago, 200+ places left. Got me credit card, went back 10 minutes later and it says entry closed! Sick as a chip. Sent an email to organisers to see if any way i can enter, heard a good PB is possible if wind stays off.

if you're in a club you could always ask your club captain to contact them today , may help swing it ? lad at work has done it and reckons its at least 5mins faster than the GNR, he said same as others in that its flat with a downhill section, good weather forecast this weekend also . hope you get in

I did the sunderland one in 1.44 aswell but then did the gnr in 1.31 I think the sunderland half was a lot harder than the gnr, good luck on sunday
