A well written blog that should answer a lot of questions when it comes to getting started. A friend of mine who knows his stuff.

That's an outstanding read, it should be stickied as a "Beginner's Guide to Losing Fat". OP, do these things and you will see results.

I'm someone jealous of his numbers (he's far lighter than me, and far stronger, too!), but it's good to see that we appear to have a very similar philosophy when it comes to diet method and overall psychological outlook. I'm confident that if I stick to what I'm doing I'll see some really good results. I've lost just under a stone and am lifting weights that I was unable to lift eating over a thousand calories a day more than I am at the moment... though they're still not very impressive!). I think that when I reach the stone lost mark (which will take me to just over 13 stone), I'll slowly reintroduce calories to get up to maintenance, stick with that for a while, then re-evaluate where I'm at.

Yeah he's very strong but wait until you see the video I will post tonight of his brother doing 300kg x 3 reverse band squat!

Me and him seem to agree about most things, but he articulates things very well in articles that actually makes them easy, enjoyable reads (IMO anyway).

Sounds like you're doing well mate!

See i can read all that and still wont understand so i am just after the basics really, like, 2 boiled eggs for breakfast then "whatever" for lunch etc etc
is there any other nice drinks other than water, i like water dont get me wrong but its boring and i know "suger free" pop aint the answer.
Cheers!

Milk is delicious. Not ideal if you're on a calorie restricted diet mind.

Just add a bit cordial to your water.

Sugar free pop has again recently been associated with aiding weight loss. Anecdotally, I see that it helps a lot of people. Just don't go mad with it.

Work out how many calories you need a day and then set a target of a few hundred calories less that.

Eat whichever foods will let you meet your target whilst still providing enough nutrition.

It'll be helpful for you, in the long run, to actually take some time to understand nutrition, or at least how calorific foods are.

It's not worthwhile telling you what to eat because it's unrealistic for you to stick to it.

Take the advice above from Charmless Man. Anybody who writes you a meal plan without providing you information about calories, macronutrients etc does not have your best interests at heart, or they're just a bit of an idiot when it comes to nutrition. For something to be sustainable long term, you need to learn a bit about nutrition.
