I wouldn't say so, a Muslim I know once said to me that the prophets (moses, jesus, mohammed) were written for different times. I would suggest there is some correlation between the social climate at the time these books were written and the influence they have, for example if Islam was based on the prophet Jesus they would have a book similar to the bible. Just my opinion of course.

I'm not islam's biggest fan, but you can't just assume that 'native white people' will be in a minority to muslims. 'non white' people are made up of different religions, not just islam, which incidentally mostly have an issue with islam as well (or rather it does with them).

As far as prophets of islam go, Mohammed is the be all and end all, the main man. The others are just footnotes, who IMO, were included as prophets by Mohammed to make it easier for followers of other religions to convert to islam.

I wouldn't say it was a conspiracy, more common sense on Mohammed's part. He is trying to sell a new religion to people, what better way than to just say it is a continuation of their old one. Also, Allah was a arab pagan god, and the kaaba was a pagan place of worship which people walked round much like muslims do now. Mohammed adopted both into islam as well.
Similar was done with christianity here, with pagan festivals being adopted into christianity and being renamed. It would have made it much easier for the locals to adapt to.
