Can you elaborate mate?

Has he always been like this does anyone remember, some of the best (stewie etc) were awful fidgets.
Yes he just always looks either hyperactive or a bag of nerves. Example today Notts bowler bowls a delivery at him down the leg side muchall misses it but is running half way down the wicket for a bye but Read has taken it cleanly and Gordon is legging it back.
It was noticeable today when Keedy was bowling to him he slowed everything down kept just moving a fielder half a yard which wouldn't make any difference just to keep Muchall waiting. To be honest its nowt new opposition spinners have been doing it to him for years.

what the hell for? 2 day left in this game, just keep batting
First rule of captaincy, do what the oppo least expect. On this pitch 261 seems a decent lead, sets them what would be the biggest score of the match. Do everything as if we're going to bat on, have early nets etc, get padded up, then at 10.50 tell them it's them who will be batting and watch their faces. :D

So what kind of a lead would people be happy with? If we can get to 300 that's a big psychological milestone. Ideally I'd like 400!

There is a thought process that suggests we may have enough already and Notts will have to score the highest total in the match to win it from here anyway.

My worry though is that firstly I don't think Notts will bat as badly second time around AND second I hope the pitch doesn't flatten out like it has done a couple of times in the recent past..... Somerset as Lancashire come to mind.

The more runs we get this morning the more I'll just think the pitch has flattened ;)

Lo peeps :)

what day at the Riverside.

First off I had a result just getting into the ground. As I was about to pay my 15 quid to get in someone taps me on the shoulder and say 'here' - it's a ticket to get in. He also gave another one to the lad behind me who happened to be a Notts supporter. I doubt that lad reads this forum but just in case he does, thanks very much indeed. :)

As for the match I think I've only got a mention a couple of things that hasn't been said previously. First, Colly is great. Everytime I've seen him bowl he's caused problems for opposing batsmen. It's funny cos I don't really recall him bowling much at all for England except for 1 dayers, and he's bowling at a fair pace at times too. Not bad for a old 'un.

Rushworth's dismissal of Wessels is worth a mention too. I raised my eyebrows when Rushy was bowling and Richardson sent off to the pavilion for a helmet. It took a minute or two for it to arrive and when it did he stood up to the wicket, not bad for a very part time keeper as the very next ball was lobbed gently to MacLeod at gully and the helmet was sent back to the changing rooms. Whoever worked out that if the wickie stands up for Wessels he'll give a dolly catch is a cricketing genius!

The missed catch / 6 on the boundary by Rocky was a shocker too. The ball slapped into his palms and he pushed it up and over the boundary like he was playing volley ball. Possibly it didn't see it very well because it looked like he was taken by surprise.

When it came to the our innings you have to hand it to Keedy. Our openers looked pretty settled although Rocky did give qa couple of edges, one of which went to hand and out again. As we know he went first ball to the spinner caught behind.

Jennings dismissal was poor. Surrounded by close catchers he tried a paddle sweep. The ball looked up and just evaded a catcher by a yard or so and a few balls and couple of overs later he tried the same again but this time out. Daft shot.

For the run out I'd come down on the side of saying Richardson should take most of the blame. I seen it written that Borthwick 'fell over' but what actually happened is that Rich drove the ball hard down the ground and it possibly hit Borthwick of at least he had to dive out of the way falling on his back in doing so. While still on his back he saw Richardson haring down at him for the first run. In other words he was struggling for the first run never mind the third. Any way, there really was no need to go for a sharp 3.

All in all, a good day for us, it could have been better but we should win from here eh?
That's a canny synopsis of a great days cricket Bri, and good result for you on the ticket front. One of the Notts supporters bought a ticket for today at the ground and it was only £12 as it was considered an advance sale which is worth remembering - she won't be buying one for Wednesday though!!! On the run out, Scotty was out of the crease so threw himself back in as the ball went by, probably in case a fielder got a hand to it and pushed it onto the stumps. However, it was the way he turned his back on Richardson and just stood there without responding to Richy's two calls that I was annoyed at. No doubt it was all sorted out in the dressing room over a nice cup of tea ....... looking forward to today and I'm in the get as many runs on the board as possible camp. Colly demonstrated that no matter what the pitch is doing just get yourself in and don't do anything silly and the runs will come .... two days to get 300 can change the mindset of all the Notts batsmen, and they have got some canny batsmen ....

Can stokes be realeased to bowl in the last innings?

f***ing joke they make the decision to drop him today when we could have done with him for this match.

Jordan ahead of stokes too england are a f***ing joke.

Now i'm nee expert but with two days to go that seems as bad an idea as i've ever heard.

I think for him to return to Durham a player to step down had to have been nominated at the toss. With him (likely) expecting to play today I'd guess they won't have made the decision to nominate someone.

I was 99 percent certain he couldn't play. But thought I'd ask the question in case I was wrong.

I presume as he took no part in either first innings he can't be involved in any part of the 2nd innings with bat or ball.

Hopefully bat for an hour this morning and then blitz them. Not a cloud in the sky and looking like perfect batting conditions. Will now see what the pitch is really like.

I am concerned about the weather here. Would have been very confident of bowling them out for this lead under yesterday's conditions.

Still, they are going to have to score the biggest innings of the match and chasing 275+ has never been easy at CLS. lets hope we can eek out a few more yet.
