Clearly your father in law hates you because you come across like most mackems on here at least as a bitter twat. Although if he really hated you he'd have banged on about your record breaking 19 point season which you broke a few years later. I've worked all over the country and I can't claim like one of you did about us that everyone hates you. To be fair, no fucker ever mentions you. You're an irrelevance. 100% this. It wasn't just a one year thing like some are making out. They comfortably won division 1 then were the top scorers in their first season back, finishing 3rd. In 11 seasons from 1993-2004 they finished in top 6 7 times and during the 4 years in between when they were 'shit' they reached 2 FA Cup finals (qualifying for Europe both times as runners up) so were in Europe pretty much every season. But in the 11 years or so since they have only finished in the top 6 once. It was awful being a Sunderland fan in those days.

The are still the entertainers to me. Whether it is the mis-spelt bed sheets, pretend funerals, horse punching, smashing up scum land, failed walkouts and who can forget shoe waving. Apologies if I've missed anything. Sky sports news would be shit without them. :)

He did comment that he found it hard as a Mag fan to get his head round why as a Sunderland fan I wasn't as obsessed with Newcastle as your lot are with Sunderland. He did accept we had been the more successful club in the North East over the history of both clubs which is fair do's!
