I've been busy these last few years practicing the Victorian art of Wet Plate, or Wet Collodion Photography across Sunderland and in my own Tintype Studio. (A rarity in the UK these days!)

You can see a lot more examples of these tintypes on my 'other' website, The Silver Sunbeam.

First attempt at the Milky way last night. Headed up to Keilder reservoir and when I arrived the conditions were excellent with crystal clear skies just before sunset. As the stars started to appear a huge cloud rolled in over the point at which I was focusing so packed up the gear and headed home. As I was driving over the moors I stopped at the roadside and noticed the sky was once again clear. Pulled over and set up the gear and managed to get this. Quite heavily processed due to light pollution even though to the naked eye the sky was pitch black. An amazing sight for anyone who hasn't seen the night sky in all it's glory.

Newcastle Gateshead Quayside was looking great last night. The organisers of the Great North Run Million Opening Ceremony were testing the lights which was giving some great colour to the surrounding buildings and bridges. Also, the Pet Shop Boys were playing at the Sage so it was lit up like a rainbow for about half an hour, which really looked great.

I welcome constructive feedback but prefer no banners / awards, thanks.
