The Borini fee

It's pretty simple, Liverpool sign another forward, we sign borini...
Reason for the high fee Inter Milan do not want to pay over the odds for Borini but we do to out bid Inter !!!! Thus the hold up !!!! Liverpool love it !!! The Borini camp is snookered !!!! Disrespectful maybe !!!! Will be playing against QPR my thoughts !!!!

To be honest mate, I think the Borini camp hold all of the cards here and it is Liverpool that are snookered. Liverpool clearly want to sell the player and at £14m, I would think definitely to us unless someone else comes in with a higher bid. The last thing they want is Borini sitting on his hands waiting for someone like Inter to come in close to deadline day and offer say £10m cash for him and the player then states that that would be his preferred move otherwise he wants to remain at Liverpool. Then Liverpool would have a decision to make. Give the player his preferred move for the lower fee, or keep a player they don't really want and farm him out on loan again? It wouldn't be the first time that clubs have had to bow to player power. Just one of the many ways it could play out. Still think he'll end up here like.

Genuinely hadn't seen those quotes before. They do say he'd "been told nothing" by Liverpool though and are superseded by the quotes from Poyet saying he does want to come.

Maybe he's been told in the meantime that he definitely won't feature at Liverpool?

His agent said that he wanted to stay at Roma the summer he signed for Liverpool. The bloke will probably say anything if it gets him and Borini a better deal.

My guess is, we agreed 14 million fee, announced to press, Liverpool say "oh by the way how are we receiving this money" we tell them to deduct it from the money they owe us on Henderson/Mignolet transfers, they decline as that is staged payments and they want a lumper up front for Fabio, result stalemate, they take Fabio on tour to States to prove a point.

I like the thought process could be dead on mate.....

I honestly don't think there is much else to know other than what Gus has said everything else seems to be at Liverpool's end.

The Chronicle is saying that Rodgers has left it up to Borini but told him he will be used as a squad player this season if he stays........that might be enough for Borini and I think the club should move on to other targets......If indeed they have any.

They would jump at the chance to pay off their dept by offloading an unwanted player at an inflated price surely. Especially considering that they are cash rich from the Suarez deal.

Not if they thought they could get a slightly lower offer from elsewhere but on better payment terms. Money in their bank building interest regards Henderson and Mig repayments

I am confident he will be here by the end of the window. Probably on a permanent deal, loan if we can't iron out the issues holding the deal up....whatever they may be.

Poyet has addressed the situation and told us, no doubt in an attempt to stop the ridiculous whinging, that it's not to do with his desire to join but that it's something he "can't discuss". this suggests it's a legal/financial reason rather than a personal one.

Borini has not once said he doesn't want to come, which should speak volumes.....but plenty on here choose to ignore it. They'd rather take the view that it means he stringing us along, which is highly doubtful given his relationship with Gus and the distinct lack of other interest. I'm convinced some on here will actually be upset if he signs.

Time will tell. Looking forward to bumping a lot of posts who have said definitively he won't come.

Frustrating for everyone involved i would imagine.

Vargas gone to QPR now officially so our eggs might be fully back in the Borini basket!
 Class

Good point that never thought about it that way

It's been confirmed on numerous occasions that SAFC officials monitor this board. Journalists do too. For weeks the number one issue has been Borini and a load of posters have been moaning about the club/player......makes sense they'd want to try and stop that from gathering pace.

It amazes me when people refuse to believe the club take this place seriously.....especially when we know legal action has been threatened on a few occasions.

The majority of our fans aren't moaning though. If Poyet is coming out with stuff in response to this place, which represents a small minority of fans and the moaners an even smaller minority, someone in the PR department needs to have word.
