aye this is what im wondering. the news feed on safc.com says

Looks like 4-4-2 for Sunderland, with Fletcher and Wickham up front. Meanwhile Costel Pantilimon gets the nod in goal ahead of Vito Mannone, while Patrick van Aanholt gets his Sunderland debut!

but i imagine that is just guess work. can't really see gus playing 4-4-2 out of the blue. so im assuming wickham down the left and fletcher up top, which means giaccherini is playing as a central mid...
