. Who has ever said and where has it been reported that he is a "pariah".
You kidding me right? Sacked by ECB, despised by most of his former England team mates, despised by. Notts players, butt of the joke on twitter (set up and followed by those inside the camp), nowhere near the Emgland setup despite a) being our best player, and b) this being the worst team for many a year, not many friends in the media........

My personal opinion. Who has ever said and where has it been reported that he is a "pariah". Surrey certainly seem to want him. As far as I can tell he has not been sacked by any team he has played for but decided to move on. In fact Notts forced him to play the last year of his contract with them. England even took him back. So, pariah - social outcast? Don't think so. Except maybe in South Africa.

Anyway, at professional level why should any player expect to be in a team where he thinks he has to be friendly with every single team mate? That's going to be difficult with any eleven you could pick anyway. This isn't a f***ing sunday school team, it's supposed to be the best that England can select, and if anybody thinks they can't put in their best performance just because they don't like somebody else on the team they have no business being there.

Everybody understands that but Pieterson went a whole lot further than that, as you well know.
I dare say there hasn't been a team in history where all the players were bestest friends with each other.

This. It's not just the same as disliking a team mate (Cole/Sheringham) - when you deliberately take actions to undermine the team you are representing then there should be no way back. ECB and Cook are just as culpable for allowing him back into the setup after the South African affair.

It's laughable really. I sometimes wonder what he'd have to do for these people to actually think "yenarr what, enough is enough".

Its great for the ECB that KP is still being discussed I reckon. While people are finding new ways to hate KP and confirm their decision was right, they can reintroduce staid selection policies which I thought we had moved on from.

KP has gone lads.

He's been employed by 3 counties, none of whom sacked him, and stayed at each for at least 3 or 4 seasons. Played 104 Test matches, read again 104 Test matches (more than Strauss actually), over a period of 10 years. You say you have some evidence he is despised by Notts players when he hasn't even played for them for 10 years, not sure who except Gallian, and Notts actually forced him to stay an extra year anyway. Oh and he was the butt of some joke on twitter - would like your opinion of the players concerned with that who were clearly undermining the team, or is it ok if they hate KP? Big deal, all of the rest hardly makes him the pariah of English cricket you seem to think he is, as he seems to have had a decent career mostly in English cricket despite all of it.

You are kidding me shirley.

We don't know that he sent the texts?
That was hardly a massive crime. Along the same lines as the twitter account.

and barely played for them. He played lots for England and was disliked/hated by man, many players. His talent masked all of this until he got too big (even) for his boots - announcing his retirement and then availability via YouTube, sending texts to the opposition mocking the captain

hardly makes him the pariah of English cricket.

Maybe you misunderstand the meaning of the word
Pariah -
an outcast.
"they were treated as social pariahs"
synonyms:outcast, persona non grata, leper, undesirable, unperson, nonperson;

Eh? It was disgraceful man. Would you forgive anything aslong as he scored runs?
Obviously because I think a few texts were a storm in a tea cup I would therefore forgive anything as long as he scored runs. The sort of strawman "logic" I have come to love on the SMB.

You don't even know what was really in the texts.

I know exactly what pariah means. Check my previous posts. He was outcast neither by the Test team for 10 years nor by the 3 counties he has played for, even though his appearances for them were limited by his central contract. You don't give central contracts to pariahs now do you?

An English pariah, or outcast, who nontheless played "lots" for England. Good one. And you don't know that he was hated by "many players", just the handful who disrupted the England team by first refusing to play with him, then had him back when it suited them.

Calling him a Pariah refers to the present not the past. He is currently outcast from the team and the entire ECB setup, ergo he is a pariah

Jeez Mrs Pietersen, let it go will you

You have a complete inability (or unwillingness) to read between the lines don't you? For someone as mild mannered and reserved as Andrew Strauss to call him what he did has to tell you something about how he was seen within the setup. Cook doesn't like him, Flower doesn't like him, Strauss doesn't like him, Swann doesn't like him, Broad doesn't like him, Flintoff didn't like him, Moore doesn't like him, Prior doesn't like him........do you want me to go on?

No, normally you would just say that a player has been dropped. But thank you for that fascinating insight Mrs Strauss. You still can't name all these players who despise him.

But he hasn't just been dropped has he? Jordan was dropped, Bresnan was dropped, Pietersen was sacked - despite being contracted to the ECB for a further 7 months, and even if form and fitness issues necessitated it, he was told he would never play for England again.

He has been cast out from the game, despite still being worth his place in the team. The reasons for which are clear and have been documented. He is therefore, a pariah.

There aren't aren't enough hours in the day to list all the players that dislike Kevin Pietersen

I'm enjoying the "likeable guys Xl". Everyone gets along great and knows how to lose gracefully. They will get loads of practice.

He has been cast out from the game,
He has not been cast out of English cricket, which was what was originally said. And after 10 years in the test team, to say he is a pariah because he wasn't selected is ridiculous. And no reason has yet been documented, for legal reasons. It has all been speculation.

There aren't aren't enough hours in the day to list all the players that dislike Kevin Pietersen
Bullshit.

He has not been cast out of English cricket

So, when is he playing his next test then? Is he in the squad for the 3rd test?

He may well make the odd appearance for Surrey, but he has been cast out of the England setup and won't be returning

There's enough quality in that team to win games - they just need a captain who is capable.

Bullshit.

Great argument - it's a well known fact that Pietersen is an unpopular cricketer - the fact that you only get media hungry has-beens like Morgan or Gough championing his cause tells you all you need to know. Who inside the game right now is backing him? Which England player has come out and said "he's a great guy and we miss him"?

You are comfortable that only nice guys are eligible for the team?

The term "nice guys" is too black and white - no harm in someone with a bit of an edge, but when you are divisive and disruptive to the point where the team's performance is affected by your presence then I'd say that person should be removed from the team.
