We need a new ball bowler desperately, crying shame Onions is not fit taking wickets like last year, he would of played.

Broad can't play for me, and I am not convinced by Jordan at all.

People tell me Woakes is a yard quicker, and deadly accurate.

Maybe he is worth ago? Never thought I'd hear myself say that.

They are getting a lot of stick, but we haven't got a lot of options, there isn't someone crying out to be picked who unjustly isn't, I think they are making the right calls, just haven't bowled well enough in my opinion, that is the most important part of the whole summer, even beyond Cook.

The only wild cards would be maybe Hales, Morgan or Monty.

For my sins I am going on Sunday.

Those watching on tv - remember I am there before you post your inane rambles

A day at a Test match is absolutely fantastic, no matter who well England are playing, well jealous of you.

And it allows one upmanship on here

Clearly the selectors have decided that this team/squad and the captain will get the full series to perform. At the end, if we have lost 3-0 for example they will remove Cook and look at the likes of Anderson, Broad and Bell as to whether they are still good enough to perform.

I think Woakes will come in for Broad. Stokes will be stuck at No.8 and probably get no runs again (not sure why batting position is so important)

When Broads fully fit and in form he's our best bowler for me but a niggle/injury seems to knock him more than other bowlers so I agree he should be left out. If someone does come in then I hope they're given an early bowl and don't have to wait for an hour or so for the Broad/Anderson show to have ended.

Feel sorry for Onions. He's exactly the kind of line and length bowler we need but, fitness aside, the current setup are too obsessed with economy. If you take wickets but go at 4 an over they're just not interested.

I personally think that neither Jordan or Woakes have what it takes at this level. They may well deserve a go but I just don't see any potential in either of them to take a game by the scruff of the neck. With Stokes for example, although he has had his struggles you can see this potential.

If Broad is out I would have preferred to see us pick either Finn, or a young up and coming quick. Plenty out there we could give a go. Surely expectations are pretty low at the minute so why not.

We need pace. Especially for when we aren't playing on green tops

Agreed mate. Is Finn back up to pace and fit enough? What about Mills, is he getting games at Essex (?) and bowling well?
