On Talkshite just now.

Seems that Broad, Anderson, Prior and Cook didn't want him in so therefore he's out.

Nothing we didn't already know I suppose but coming from him (KP's official mouthpiece) probably means that's the truth. Or as near as we're going to get to it.

As far as the four in question are concerned - KP probably deserves his place more than those at present.
 


I don't know how anyone on this site can support KP when he shows such a disregard for county cricket. Not been interested in playing any championship cricket for Surrey this season, that tells me he wants to get back into the England team the easy way or just wants to settle a few scores with ex England team mates.

Agree with this. If he had been playing for Surrey all summer and had 3 or 4 tons behind him, then he simply could not have been ignored. He has however been plane hopping all over playing 20 over slogs where he can, pretty unsuccessfully. Picking KP would be a massive kick in the teeth for those actually making runs in the county game.

Morgan has been spot on with it all to be honest. Whether you agree on bringing KP back is another story, but Morgan said the likes of Moores are clowns and so far their record suggests that. KP is box office, I'd pay good money to watch him play for England, I wouldn't pay to watch this negative, dull shower of sh!te at the moment though, nobody excites me in that side at all. Cook is way out his depth and his recent record suggests that, 27 innings without a century, 10 tests without a victory, 2 series defeats recently.

It will all come out in the future. England miss KP, he was used as the scapegoat for the farce that was Australia. I mean Paul Downton is just a joke, what has he ever achieved in the game, a test average of less than 20!!, yet he can dictate what goes on with the national side?? Peter Moores failing once again. The ECB are just an absolute farce, they are massively out of touch with the game, putting trust in boring, dull, negative characters who quite simply aren't delivering like many said they wouldn't. County Cricket scheduling is always a farce, all the doing of The ECB.

I'd love to see KP back, but he's way too good for England and the clowns at The ECB.

I would usually agree but in KP's case this is not necessary. He's already done plenty to prove that he is head and shoulders above any other England batsman.

Didn't seem to be a problem for them when the team was winning, it's only when people started to fail that they needed a scapegoat.

Come on man! You don't need to be inside the camp to know that! The fact that half the team were following and retweeting the fake KP twitter account, it's documented that Cook, Prior, Broad and Anderson didn't like him, Swann was quoted as saying "get that South African c*** out of our team" and when someone as mild mannered as Andrew Struass calls him an "absolute cunt" I think you know where he sat in the popularity stakes

Agree with a lot you say but don't just blame the ECB for the fixture list the counties and there own self interest are also to blame for that as well. It is the counties that wanted the t20 expanded and played over a longer period in the height of summer and where quite happy to make the championship a second rate competition by playing most of it in April, May and September.

I suppose you could argue that he could justify his approach when he was scoring runs. He had stopped scoring runs and wasn't contributing in any area of the team.

I very much doubt Durham wanted a 4 dayer at Trent Bridge to finish on a Wednesday, to then come back and play Lancashire at Chester Le Street on a Thursday, then go to Trent Bridge again on a Friday evening. I'm not at all convinced counties had much say in it, as speaking to a lot of people at Durham including players, they just shake their heads at the scheduling

I don't think he has much of a clue to be honest aside from his KP campaign.

He is wanting Morgan and Hales to play - Hales who couldn't get a game for Notts earlier this season & failed test match batsman Morgan...

Seriously wanted 8 county championship hundreds Hales to replace 25 test match hundreds Cook is madness...
