The Hull game this weekend is absolutely huge..

Just checked the fixtures there for everyone around us and this weekends game between Hull and Fulham is massive, If Hull were to avoid defeat we would surely have enough to get to safety...

West Brom have :- West Ham (H)-Win, Arsenal (A),-Lose Sunderland (A)-Draw, Stoke (H)-Draw.............38 points

Norwich have :- Man United (A)-Lose, Chelsea (A)-Lose, Arsenal (H)-Draw..............33 points

Cardiff have :- Sunderland (A)-Lose, Newcastle (A)-Win, Chelsea (H)-Lose...............33 points

Fulham have :- Hull (H)-Win, Stoke (A)-Lose, Palace (H)-Draw...............................34 points

Sunderland have :- Cardiff (H)-Win, Man United (A)-Lose, West Brom (H)-Draw, Swansea (H)-Win...........36 points

I expect West Brom to pick up another one or two points from the remaining home games to ensure they are safe, hopefully in time to play us so we can beat them. They can pretty much write Arsenal off away from home but if they grab a win against West Ham that'll do them I would think.

From looking at that, Although there will be twists and turns, Logically it looks like Norwich are gone. They are to face a new Man United side on Saturday before going to Chelsea who I very much doubt will lose two on the bounce at home and then host Arsenal who will need to win to ensure a Champions League place.

Cardiff have to play us and its do or die for both clubs, If they lose that they'll have to go for it at the Mags which could go one of two ways considering they haven't won a home game in ages and need a win before the seasons out. I would imagine the quality of Chelsea on the final day would be too much for Cardiff. If we beat them we would go two points ahead with a game in hand with them facing a trip to Chelsea and the Mags away, 3 points maximum there for Cardiff which would only leave us needing a point with a superior goal difference.

Fulham are the ones with the best run in and will run us to the wire, I think they could quite easily pick up 7 points from the last 3 so we NEED Hull to get a result on Saturday. If Hull managed to get a draw on Saturday it would put Fulham on 31. Thats 2 ahead of us and we would have two games in hand on them which is Cardiff and West Brom, both at home.

All the games this weekend are huge but if Hull avoid defeat and we then beat Cardiff, We would go 1 ahead with 3 to play. Fulham would be 1 behind with 2 to play. All that in mind, We are in the best position for this run in and we also have a better goal difference than Fulham so if it comes down to it that would give us an extra point.

Fulham 'two' behind with two to play against Stoke away and Palace at home against ours of United away, West Brom at home and Swansea at home, I would expect us to be able to better Fulhams run in with a 2 point advantage to stay up.

Haway the lads.

IMO, so we will finish 17th and stay up. Even if Fulham beat Palace (going by my predictions), we will finish ahead of them on GD. As well as this, if Norwich beat Arsenal last game then we'd finish one point above them. Plus if Cardiff beat the mags and Chelsea, they'd finish on 36 and we will stay up again on GD.

Very optimistic but I like it ;)

Everyone from Swansea & below are still in it - Im slightly relieved that Bruce cant afford to throw the game at Fulham - the OP gives a canny analysis but I cant look past this weekend

Have to be honest. I still think we've had it based on Fulham's run in. They'll win a couple of them games I reckon. I think we need to win at least two more, probably two wins and a draw but we might need 3 wins. It's a big ask for us.

Bruce knows this is almost his last chance to get that point that takes him to safety.
Next they have Villa away, Man Utd away and finally Everton home.

So Hull will be 100% motivated to get something out of this game.
And when did Fulham become worldbeaters? They are horrible at defending and their attack is not very sharp either.

Even if Fulham get two wins. I don't think 2 wins and a draw would be impossible considering our games. Would be very tough though.

We're still in it surprisingly

Bruce would love nothing more than to see us relegated, I'm fully expecting a comfortable Fulham win.

Bruce is now manager of Hull City and his task is to keep us in this league. Are you seriously suggesting he will "throw" the game against Fulham to muddy the relegation places?

I wish I shared the consensus that 36 points will keep us safe, but it is not an opinion I have, nor one shared by SB. As has been said on here already, it is our best chance of getting the points to see us safe. To add to the cup distraction theory, cold hard cash could play a part. The honour and glory of winning the Cup is rewarded with 1.8 million pounds. About the same as the incremental increase in prize money for final league position.

I reckon it will be between us and Fulham

Can't see Norwich getting more than a point in the run-in (Possibly at Old Trafford)- 33- down
Cardiff won't get more than 3 points- 33- down
West Brom will get 4/5 to survive- safe

It leaves the final spot between us and Fulham. Could be nervy last day.
Don't write off Norwich getting something from their last game home to Arsenal.

100% agree. Probably one of the worst teams we've played this season. They're poor at home and don't have goals in their team with benteke injured. Also the backroom stuff.

It's ashame they got that point last week as they would have been under alot of pressure.

Their fixtures are

Swansea A
Hull H
City A
Spurs A

Think a point will keep them up because of GD.

You're wondering why they haven't been mentioned yet accept they only need one point from four games?

It's between five teams for me, up to West Brom. If all the results went against Hull this weekend they might look over their shoulder a little, but I think they're already safe. 36 points will be enough.

Fulham will match what we get from the remaining games. And I also think Cardiff will. I reckon Norwich will get something from the last game and thats their lot. We are fucked.
