Steak - Best in Sunderland?

I'd like to say D'Aqua but me and the missus had to send our steaks back the other night as we ordered rare and they came out medium/well done. The replacements weren't rare either. We stuck with them anyway and they tasted great, just didn't enjoy them as much as we would have done.

Was a bit of a shame as every other aspect of the meal was fantastic (especially the panaculty pasty). And to be fair to the front of house fella there was no fuss at all with us returning the steaks.

Mine wasn't as rare as i'd have liked the other week like. Still lovely mind.

Why would there be?

There shouldn't be in a good restaurant. And there wasn't.

I've been places where that hasn't been the case.
My then boss sent a steak back five times in paris. He wanted it well done. We kept trying to tell him that the chef just won't do it. We were on the brandies by the time he ate

Had a similar experience in a restaurant in Madrid with work, most the table sent the steaks back 5 or 6 times because they were "too rare". The chef refused to cook them Irish-style (burnt), so a passive-aggressive stand off ensued.

I love a rare steak. Ended up having about 4 of the fuckers that night.

I was invited into the kitchen at maze grill the other night ,the chef was explaining to me how to cook the perfect steak

I couldn't understand a word he said , his Italian accent was so strong

Boi Gordo butchers in Hackney

That's about what they charge in Cafe Rouge, except the don't even do a peppercorn sauce.

People rave on about this place but last few times I've been in there has been things wrong with the meals.

Worse, Black
Oh oh.

I can't cook steak no matter how many top tips I see on here. I got roundly abused for getting a Kobe burger at that place over the road from Smithfield but it was better than any steak I'd had even if it was about 16 quid 10 years ago.
