I spoke to Ben today at the game and he sees the specialist again in 4 weeks to check if his wrist is heeling the way it should. He won't have a timescale for a comeback until after that meeting.

cracking player on his day, i just feel - in the same way i felt about henderson & mignolet with safc one more season to fully play for durham and prove he can consistantly be the man would IMO be a really positive thing.

Smash it up for us, 1,000 runs and 40 or 50 wickets and then blaze a trail into the test side on the back of backed up talent rather than just promise.

or to put it another way, lets get another championship title out of him before england ruin him ;)

Four weeks is quick for a scaphoid injury. It is a really awkward bone to heal, as I know to my cost. I broke mine donkeys years ago and it has never been right since! Ben will have had rather better treatment of course, but he is a professional cricketer, and he cannot afford any lack of movement in his wrist if he is to bowl fast yorkers again.

I'll be relieved when I see him bowling quick and swinging the ball again. As we all know, the wrist is vital for this, so fingers crossed.

This :D

But of a bummer on that 4 week thing, I genuinely assumed he might be close for the Yorkshire game.

When you think of the amount of damage players do to dressing room fixtures and vice versa, wouldn't it be better for all dressing rooms to have one of those punchbags boxers use?

Maybe

Or maybe they could just grow up and learn to deal with disappointment without punching things

The home dressing room at the sol has only had padded fittings for years
