Help. 6ft 1 inch, 12st 9. I'm at a crossroads, feel good, fit but want if possible to achieve visible abs is this realistic at 38? I would say my bodyfat is 15percent max maybe touch under

From there I would want to build bigger muscle, not huge. I have my macros in check but confused with my current position.

Currently strength train x 3 times per week, 2 x high intense cardio.

Abs are made in the kitchen marra, abs are 30% training and 70% diet
I'm too fat to have abs, about 15-20% but dinnit really care

Abs are for skinny lads.

Big legs, back and traps are where it's at mate. Raw power! ;)
This. The best physique to me is when you're fully clothed and still actually look like you can put someone through a wall. Wouldn't really be bothered about abs unless I was around 15 stone of muscle now. Had the six pack before, but on a skinny person they're like nice clothes on a fat lass. No-one gives a fuck.

I agree......and as the OP is 6'1" and only 12 stone 9, he could probably do with building up in other areas first

I was recently told by a lad I know who's a PT that I should cut down because I'd have really good cuts in my legs. I told him cuts won't help me squat more weight and pointlessly dieting for something my girlfriend wouldn't give a toss about would be detrimental to my long term goals.

Yes I completely get where you're coming from. Compromising the more impressive feat of how much heavy shit you can lift for lower body fat and more definition is senseless. Which is why God invented steroids, so you can have both. Just kidding. Sort of.

I think people like Dan Green and Pete Rubish have things right (not relating to the steroid part), in that they are both brutally strong powerlifters who have visible abs. Ofcourse powerlifters can be unreal without abs, I don't think t's a requirement by any stretch and many of the greatest powerlifters haven't had them (or in many cases, been absolute fat fucks). But that's how I best like to see people go about it.

My main issue and puprimary focus at the minute mate is exactly the opposite. My legs are strong but have no size. It's very very frustrating. I look top heavy which I've always wanted to avoid.

Am about 3 weeks in to focusing on bringing them up over the next few months. Gonna strip the weight off the bar a bit and focus on sitting in the hole for higher rep sets than I usually would. I know genetically I'm up against it a bit but you don't know without trying do you?

I agree, I think if you're going for the six pack aspire to both. Personal preference. Here have some Dave Tate with ripped abs:

Deep squats and 'exploding' out of the hole work. If you asked my advice, I'd recommend more milk and German volume training or something barbaric like Smolov would give you working class legs and turn you into a human car jack within a matter of months. Sprints also help a lot.

Tate is God. Wendler is Thor.

I've tried GVT in the past like mate, the definition is there and they're solid as a rock just no appreciable size. I'm fully aware that my nutrition has to be bang on though, I'm doing a pint of full fat upon awaking and before bed in addition to my shakes and meals. That worked before massively.
