Got back into running just after xmas after years of being lazy......my wife and I both got fitbit for xmas and I have to say it has got us focused.

I started with trying 7miles in 7 weeks plan but found my fitness wasnt as bad as I thought so scratched that.

Currently doing 2 ×10k and 3×5k a week which includes a parkrun.

The parkrun i did on saturday was 29mins beating my previous time of 32.17 so i can see the improvement.

Doing the 10k in 1hr 10, would like to get that under 1hr as i would like to enter some runs......

I also feel great......

3.5 miles around my hotel in Glasgow tonight while away on business. Slow 34:19 cos I had to keep stopping for traffic!

Needed to loosen up after sitting on a train all day, enjoyed it anyway. Weather was shit like...

Nice to have the wind back when running . . Not  effing hate the wind.

Any of the XC fans on here doing the northerns at Blackburn on Saturday ? See you there if so

did a steady run last night and agree... the wind, its shit... ! have a good run saturday

Every time I get some motivation a massive wind storm comes along. Nearly got blown over walking down my street this morning (thank fuck for my heavy gym bag) never mind running!

My last big run for the Summer signed up for, 18.5 mile round the very scenic Hamsterly forest on July 2nd

That's Sunderland half, Durham coast half, Hamsterly 18.5 and Morpeth to Newcastle marathon signed up for. Just hope the legs can stand up to the punishment

I thought Gertrude was supposed to have f*cked off by now. Got a hilly run planned which I sacked off yesterday on account of the storm. The hills are meant to be challenging enough without it howling a gale out there

Another 2 mile done this morning, thats a huge total of 4 miles this year.....
Its not really going too well is it.
I'll blame the weather,
Still, ive got till the end of March to get back into it.

24 miles of trails today including two climbs up Roseberry Topping. Been a while since got that kind of mileage in on trails and legs cooked tonight.....Lakes next weekend

had a week off last week as im starting a training plan for my next race in Edinburgh in a few months, when I read my plan this morning it was a rest day Monday so I just went and done 3 very slow this morning as ive already had a week off

getting some decent runs in the last few weekends but away with work almost every week is messing up the midweek stuff no end. same again this week so unfortunately more time on the treadmill. hate it and not good for marathon training.

Had to pull out of the Hardmoors 55 in March, crap but I've done nowt for nearly 4 weeks due to a chest infection. Gutted but 100% sure that it's the right decision. Hopefully that'll be the end of the withdrawals this year
