My boy was 5 and sang cheer up peter reid till my and those around mes ears bled. You could have told him to shut up till you were blue in the face....im a tad proud of him.

my 4yr old daughter was told to be quiet and told to stop singing " SUNDERLAND, SUNDERLAND "
during the game ,because she was " getting on my nerves" by fellow sunderland fans
ffs i was gob smacked
Spot on. Well done. It is a football matc they can piss off to the cinema if it offends them.

[from Dutch or Flemish ploten to pluck the feathers or fur from]

Love it.

A bit of a generalisation, and you have to consider who sits there. Me dad is 78 next birthday, we sit in East Stand because he's comfy there, people around us are great.

We had use of a season ticket in the east stand from time to time( it belonged to my husbands work) this was during the Keane era, me and the bairn loved it

We are quite happy there, nice people around us, and at his age me dad doesn't want west stand stuff, understand why young ones do, but I'm not going to have fans criticised solely because of where the sit xx

Don't talk shite man.
It's always the once a season free ticketers who turn up late and can't find their seat then complain that the atmosphere is shite.

The atmosphere in the East is shite. Full of old men who can do better. Some seem to enjoy an away goal more that one for us.
I have a season ticket in the south and a regular work seat (same seat so I can find it ok) in the east that I use to take the bairn and been the same for years

Couldn't help but smile at this.
We were also on a flight back from the States many years ago. My twins were babies at the time and had been as good as gold all the way back. Not a squeak. Just as we landed at Heathrow, tiredness finally took over one of them.
Cue projectile vomit between the head rests in front as the wheels touched down.
Anyone who understands fluid mechanics will picture the devastation this head rest 'diffuser' caused.
Amazingly, the couple in front who got covered laughed it off with total sympathy and understanding.
When the young lass stood up, I saw she was pregnant.

I gaurantee she went on to be a superb mother.

Aye, love celebrating when we concede or get beat me!

FFS talk about exaggerating :)

I like the East Stand. Canny people around us and I sing the odd time but at 48 I tend to just watch these days. I've done my singing and passed the baton on to the young 'uns. More power to their vocal cords :)

disgraceful that like. am thinking of taking my one soon. couldnt be doing with people like that mind spoiling the bairns fun

In my (not so very recent experience admittedly) of taking young kids to the games, most of our fans are brilliant with them and go out of their way to be nice. Don't let a thread about a few inconsiderate idiots tell you any different.
