Whatever happens this is a huge week for our football club. The positivity amongst supporters was due to the fact we have a manager that knows the game better than pretty much any other manager in the league. He agreed to come back, yes money was a factor, but had this club and us as fans not showed him last season what it means to be part of Sunderland he would not have even considered it.
The club then goes on a ridiculous PR spinning trip to the US that seems to have done more harm than good to the actual team. We then have weeks of press, manager and chairman comments about the state of the clubs finances after what has been a pretty awful start to the season.
All that positivity is now gone, we feel let down, embarrassed by team performances and worried that our manager has been duped. It needs to be sorted out now otherwise we are only going one way and shit thats a long arduous journey to ruin. A journey that could have countless negative effects on the club as a whole.

This is what happens when you fail to complete your business before the start of the seasons. You have a bad start to the season because you don't have enough good players, then good players don't want to join because of your bad start to the season.

It is a good point. Should have got players of quality during the pre season stage. We have looked so poor and the media have added to the negative spin, that I understand players with any quality are dubious about joining.

My hunch is that we'll start September with the same squad, and no head coach and DoF.
Advocaat strongly hinted that he'll walk if we don't bring in 2-3 quality players, and that it's not Congerton's fault if we don't. You can see them heading over a cliff, Thelma and Louise style.
It has been an absolutely catastrophic summer.

Well despite all that's being said, the de Guzman transfer doesn't appear to be dead and buried yet according to the Italian version of SSN, yesterday evening:

I forgot about M'Vila so, 2 players. No but, our need was greater than most and he has repeatedly said what we needed.
We needed to listen to him just to improve a little and give ourselves a fighting chance of still being a PL club come May.
Out of all of the clubs in the league, we were probably the one side who needed to strengthen more than anyone else. We haven't really done that and now 3 games into the season we've shit ourselves and realised we are desperate for a bit of quality or we're going to have a repeat of last season.

Yes, but the extension to my point is that these things are not done in isolation....we might be depending on the knock on effect of other clubs doing deals to secure ours.

I dont give a fuck about other managers, even a blind man could see we need some quality given whats been served up since the season started. I never get the bbbbbbuuuuuttt others fuck others weve been shit for years and it needs sorting now.

It doesn't matter whether you give a fuck or not. Not many managers are" happy" with their playing staff. They all want more. It's pretty standard stuff.
