England actually did well on what was a completely lifeless pitch IMO. Great to see a WIndies team prepared to dig in as well. Nice to have real cricket back.

I heard a bit of Michael Vaughan in the car on radio 4. He wasn't impressed with Cook's filed placings. He had a man on the fence for the spinners basically saving runs with about 15 overs left.
Tredders, 40 overs, 1 wicket. Root, 13 overs, 2 wickets.
We need to improve in all aspects of our bowling prior to the ashes.
