I thought the declaration was spot on. Trouble is our lack of bowling variation: 4xRFM 85 mph - line and length as Johnson says - and two off-spinners, one of them a containing bowler, the other an occasional. You need to work to get batsmen out at this level, not rely on the wicket to do something unexpected or the opposition making mistakes.
I don't think there are options out there mind, this is close to our best attack sadly

Personally I think they are try to shoe horn him into bowling just line and length

He can be aggressive and quick, he needs to be let loose

He can also reverse it when he bowlers a bit fuller
Aye, agree with this.

Needs to be someone who comes on for a 5 over burst bowling as fast as he can. Trundling in for a 7 over spell he just looks useless tbh.

True. English cricket is too geared towards the production of the same sorts of tried and tested bowlers.

I do think we should maybe have gone for two spinners mind. We will definitely do this in Grenada, wouldn't be surprised if Stokes is dropped.

Would be extremely harsh on the lad

I been saying last few days got a feeling Stokes will be dropped

Plunkett has to play next week

I'd think about resting Broad and Jordan too.

Freshen it up

Jordan?

Wont be too disappointed if this ends a draw on this pitch. Still confident we'll win the series.

West Indies have been much more gritty and determined than I thought....

I agree. They have fallen a long way in the last 2 decades, its good to see a bit of fight

Indies are still difficult to beat at home

most teams are

been overlooked, especially by that fuckwit Colin Graves

Enjoy this test anyway, should be a good series!

This is really poor. If the West Indies hadn't gifted us a load of wickets earlier today, it could have been downright horrendous.

These are the worst of the "main" recognised test sides when they are at full strength, and they are missing some of their top players.
