The Sun newspaper

You'd think News International would be trying to lay low after the good news they've had today.

Paper that goes for the lowest common denominator.

Completely different. This board doesn't have a national reach, nor does it uphold itself as some sort of beacon of patriotism

It's either OK to mock someone's speech impediment, or it isn't. The Sun always does it - Jonathan Ross, Chris Eubank, Gareth Gates. Plenty of posters on here do it too. It's hypocwitical to claim it's fine for us to do it but not them.

The point is that there is a huge difference between a joke at its expense and exploiting it to undermine someone. The Sun are doing the latter.

How many times recently has Murdoch said the Sun is his pride and joy? Many, many times!

Just goes to prove the majority report from the parliamentary committee which said he is an embarassment to the English press is correct.

Disgusting- they blatantly aren't going to give the bloke a chance then, ripping the piss about him before he's even had a day in the job. f***ing arseholes they are like, all because they didn't get the man (with no better a CV really) who would have a laugh and a joke with them, give them a lot of good soundbites and pretend they mattered. Wankers.

The sun are inadvertently getting the public behind the national team for the first time in a long time printing this sort of shite. It's a risky move as no one, bar a hand full of scousers, dislikes Hodgson. No doubt they will still run with "We was what really won it!" on the front page if he ends up doing well at the Euro's.

And ironically the only group of people who will completely agree with their treatment of Hodgson (the scousers) are the very ones who won't buy their paper anyway

I wasn't fussed either way between Redknapp and Hodgson, both had their advantages and disadvantages and neither really made me think "this bloke will do wonders with the team this summer and will be great for the long term", but I must admit after the treatment he's had thus far and the fact the media are obviously wetting themselves with anticipation of his first bad performance, I can just tell I will become a very big supporter of Hodgson

The Sun love a scandal near a big competition because they feed off it like the pathetic leeches that they are, they'd rather us go out without a point in the groupstage than us win it so they can write there shite about the team and manager to make them look bad, over and over again it happens, absolute scum

Roy Hodgson

I'd prefer it if people stopped joking about his 'speech impediment', if it's all the same with you.
