Well thats it thenOur season is over, we finally got relegated at Manchester United. Ironically with one of our more gutsy performances of the season that earned us rather unexpected but deserved draw. Well actually the season isn't over. We still have the small matter of Mondays derby game to contend with, but we can go into this without any worries. The Mags can't put the final nail in our coffin. We are formally down, just like we knew we would be back in December. We still haven't got a single victory at home and we are officially the worst team in the Premiership ever. What have we got to lose?
Sunderland SurviveWell if we didn't win today or Portsmouth or Birmingham did win, we would have been officially relegated. All was going pretty much as expected after 10 minutes with us losing to Fulham, a team that had never won away from home this season but 10 minutes later our match was abandoned with an unplayable pitch. Portsmouth and Birmingham could only manage draws with me rather oddly rooting for them (maybe thats what went wrong, they had thousands of Mackems supporting them !), so the agony is prolonged at least until tomorrow when a Baggies win would see us down, or failing that until next Friday when we need to win at Man United to stay up. Knowing Sunderland, thats just the sort of thing we would do |
