Had a walk up to Bromley North this dinnertime to scope out where this meditation class will be and found the venue. Unfortunately directly opposite a fire station meaning that it might not be the most quite venue. I'm a little nervous about it but not too bad all in all, it should involve a minimal amount of social conversing. The high street was reasonably busy but thankfully there were very few survey/charity shits about but I was still keeping an eagle eye for any stealth ones milling about. There were some girls setting up with their various strings to busk for a bit. I don't know what the idea was with two of them but they were dressed all in white, in sort of nun-like clothes with white stuff slapped all over their faces. A woman walked past with a very bizarre face, it sort of resembled a curiously proportioned cartoon sketch, almost 'Far Side' ish, with weird bloated out cheeks. I passed many a lad with their hair quite in quite ridiculous shapes and styles, preened to the point it just doesn't look like hair any more, more like perfect little cylinders orientated in various angles. The market stall was selling big bags of lemons for a quid, there can't be too many people needing lemons, especially not that many. While I was up in that part of town I thought Pret would be my easiest option. Fairly disappointing but the 'posh cheese and pickle' baguette was surprisingly decent, until I reached the end and a load of filling had migrated to that end with the force required to push it together at the other end to fit it in my gob. Odd bread. Passed TK Maxx and noticed they had a picture in the windows of some smug looking fella dressed head to toe in their garb, smirking into the distance with his ill-suiting tan, stood outside a chippy with a bag of chips and licking his thumb as people tend to when eating anything that gets on the fingers. just wipe the fingers, I find it repulsive when people suck each finger after eating something where a tiny amount gets on their fingers. Halifax have some of our artwork out in their stores. Got back and had to do a ridiculous simultaneous avoidance dance with someone coming out of the lift. Obligatory 'ho ho ho, isn't that funny' before getting in the lift and having to pretent text as a woman was going up to the same floor as me. New girl is settling in very well, she seems to have just taken to organising everything which is a good thing considering my bosses lack of any organisational skills whatsoever. She even made teas and coffees for everyone before dinner. Grand. got some stuff from Amazon delivered today, a Hefner B-sides album, Adem's first album, a DVD of Wings of Desire (A german film that I have had recommended to me, hopefully it will be good) and a collection of a few tracks from composer Avro Part. It has 3 versions of Spiegel Im Spiegal on there which is quite simply stunning. First heard it on a documentary about the Nazis as it played over some of the stories of murdered jews. I found it astoundingly beautiful straight away and tried to scour the BBCs site for information on what it was, to no avail. I heard it on classic FM's 'requests' section once and then just had to keep listening to classic FM for weeks until they played it again and I could access the online play list to find out what it was. It's making me feel sick watching the lad next time pick and prod at his salad box from waitrose.
