Went out after work for a wee drink. Was kind of obliged to as one of the new artist chaps popped in just before leaving time and he came out for a drink. Seemed a really nice lad so hopefully we'll work together ok. Bought his missus out as well, she seemed really canny, very chatty. Night went in fairly standard fashion, apart from new bloke drinking out of my pint a few times before realising he's changed over to a bottle and it wasn't his drink. If he was someone I knew I would have picked him up on it but I was a flummoxed as to what to do in this situation. I just pretended not to notice and looked the other way a lot, hoping for him to twig. Which he did. But I still had to bring the pint over from his area of the table to mine, making it clear I knew it had happened all along. There were a load of free condoms in the bogs, not too sure why. Also had little instruction cards with them, with a fairly well illustrated penis featuring in one part. Someone out there will have had to toil over that, doing client changes ("can we have the bell-end a little less shiny please" or something). bus home and chips, spotted some of the lovely foxes up my road skulking about. Sadly I was too hungry to be able to leave them any chips this time. Felt a bit guilty. Waiting for my lift to the supermarket this morning and popped outside onto my road to wait at the allotted time but the missus was late, as usual (I'm really, really anal about being punctual, even for the most casual arrangement I will be there at least 2 minutes before specified time). Even though it was raining, I didn't mind. I just got transfixed by the wind blowing the huge old oaks. Just the sound of it was lovely, felt terribly serene. Sat looking at the branches and it's still odd to me how something like that grows, something so gnarled and solid. Nature is ace. Sainsbury's was fairly painless, bought a big box of cat food for the rescued cat home fod bin by the exit. I make sure I get a different variety each week. Decided on a hair cut today, I'm away on holiday a week on monday and you need a week to grom into a haircut. Straight in and it was very quiet. Quite a nice barbers, a lot cleaner than the bromley one. He didn't talk too much either, but he told me a few of his band anecdotes later into the cut. He was in his fifties but played in a band and he seemed a really top fella. Last time I went in there I had a nice woman whos mam came from sunderland so we had a good natter. I should make the effort to go there instead of the shitty bromley one across from work. Off to Somerset House tonight for an outdoor screening of The Shining, looking forward to it although I hope the weather is better by then. I love this ad, only seen it once on the box:- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wa36LDgkrf4
