I treated myself to a take away pizza for tea, they had an offer on for 'super size' ones, so I got it, and ate all of it except one slice, which I now have for a snack today. It was tasty, vegetarian hot. Depressing viewing, the news this morning, major terrorist threat to blow up planes and all that. I guess I just find these people a bit undecipherable. I mean, I don't really believe in a God as such but I don't get how someone can come to think that God would want this sort of thing. That an all-creating, all-loving, all wise God would want suffering and death inflicted on innocent people. Even if the Quoran really is the last word delivered from God I would find it pretty grim if there was a God who demanded such acts to be committed in His name. Surely if you went up to heaven when you die and God said, 'well, you didn't believe in me and the words I sent to earth through my prophets, you're off downstairs for an eternal shit time' you could answer by just saying that you gave me a brain with reasoning as one its main components, I used my god given brain to reason that the chances are you don't exist, judging by the total lack of evidence and universal suffering in the world, I appear to be wrong but you gave me the human reasoning abilities in the first place therefore how can you send me to hell for something that is a flaw in your design? I just don't understand, I would hate to think there's a god who thinks 'gerrin!' whenever an islamic terrorist act is carried out. God as a concept should be all about, well, without sounding drippy, love and that. unfortunately, with muslims believeing the quoran to be the literal word of god, rather than in the bibles case, just some reports of events written afterwards, it lends itself to the Quoran being interpretted in all sorts of ways. The 'sword verses' in the quoran are full of stuff about killing unbelievers and all that, and I just can't see God coming out with some of the stuff written there. I'd imagine Mohammed needed a little bit of military rhetoric in place to gee up the lads when they were persecuted and had to fight for their place in arab society before it took off. But instead of being able to say 'well, that was just shit that was about at the time' it is seen as the literal word of god and so applies today, in the eyes of islamic extremists. I'm lost as to how someone thinks by blowing themselves and a load of innocent people up God will give them a pat on the back in the afterlife and have a special place in his paradise front room for them or whatever. It befuddles me, that's for sure. But people in general often do. My gut is doing well at the minute. Unfortunately it has made the consistency more like mashed potato. This is a good thing in many ways as it improves on pissing brown water out my arse. Only downside is the fact that it ends with increased amount of wiping inolved. Watery poo slips out quite easily, as does solid poo, but a middle state of poo means an awful lot of smeared shit on the arse. well, better that than a bad gut I suppose.
