half the sandwich for later...plan ahead.Friday, July 21, 2006
had a wander up bromley high street at dinner.  Dunno why, just to do something different and get a bit of air.  Stopped at a cash machine and the woman in front had a strappy top on, on her back was written '...(possibly a name)... smells'.  but it was written in scabs, as if it had been scratched in originally.  which I thought very odd.  Continued walking and saw some teenagers walking down the street in their school clobber, all were daubed in writing in marker pen, all over their clothes.  I assume it's the last day of term and they were the 5th years finally leaving school.   Didn't have time to read any but I'm guessing they said things like 'love you loads chic lol, xxxxx' or other such toss.  For a brief moment I had a vivid memory of leaving school, the last day.  i could almost feel the hope and feeling of freedom as I did then.  It was more so for me as I didn't really like anyone at school, and I dare say not many people liked me either.  Ahhh, if only those smiling faces could know the life of misery and staring-into-the-distance that awaits them in the world of the workplace.
Into Ottakers, always love book shopping.  invested in a bit of ancient history, an analysis of the al qaeda myth and a book of thought experiments.  Feels odd now that you don't do a signature anymore, you have the uncomfortable silence as the pin information processes.
Few stalls on the high street, the hair braiding stall was thankfully empty.
Decided on pret for dinner, veggie special of the week was avacado and roasted tomatoes.  Avacado i something pret is fucking obsessed with, the veggie wrap is already some kind of avacado abomination.  I don't mind avacado, just not as the main component of a sandwich.  It also had pine nuts in so it was definately off the list.  another favourite pret ingredient, fucking pine nuts.  they were in my bag of assorted nuts and seeds the other day.  Tried a couple on their own, mushy, greasy, tastless wee things.  Settled on the quite mundane egg and tomato with a nice red pepper and goats cheese soup.
Really wasn't pretty up the street all in all.  all that sagging, red, tired flesh sloshing round, barely contained in cheap loose garments.  Quite a grim visage.

Their avocado, tomato and mozzarella sandwich is the worst sandwich of ever, it's just a load of tasteless mush in some bread. I do love their breakfast pots (the yogurts with granola and either fruit coulis or honey in them) though.
