Texturing a shoe.  I don't think you need me to tell you that it is dull.  It's a reet pain in the arse Nike trainer an arl, with stitching all over the thing.  Still, it's the sort of thing that you can just doodle away at while thinking about other things.  My boss is working on some stuff for a bit magazine in america, including a ridiulous 3D glass render pie chart thing.  he grabs me yesterday and says he has a really bad headache, could I just do the few final changes for him.  He assured me they were pretty easy.  Have a look at them and although straightforward, they are a right cunt to do.  Found this a touch annoying 'my head hurts so much it makes me feel sick to look at the screen'.  And handily, my boss had flattened the whole document, making it a fucker to edit.  he's always fucking flattenign things.  I saw him in the toilets and he's getting all his aftershave on, obviously for a night out, must have been some headache.  So I bitched about it thinking he was out of the office.  But he wasn't.  Don't think he heard me, well, he hasn't mentioned it at least.  He's back in today, without a headache, yet strangely he hasn't taken the job back, I have to do the shitty finishing off when I actually have quite a lot of other stuff to do.
Pig fucking sick of seeing headlines about the 'WAGs' in the papers and on websites.  I don't understand why it should be of national interest to hear about their little holiday.  Everywhere you look it's just total non-entities of stories in what makes up the national press.  Do people really have nothing else they would like to read about other than some dunderheaded footballs missus spending some obscene amount of wedge in some german shops?  Some German lads mocked them in a nightclub - WHO FUCKING CARES ABOUT THIS SHIT?  The book I'm reading is all about the human spirit to 'quest', seems topper so far and just mentions in passing that the dumbing down of the west, when our desire to quest has put us in the position we are in, will be its eventual downfall.  I think that will be fitting in a way.  I find it sickening, the celebrated stupidity, the tedious insights into fuck-headed 'celebs', the endless tv programmes of luckless proles queueing to be laughed or scorned at, the shelves groaning under the weight of magazines that offer the reader FUCK ALL in terms of actual insight into anything that's actually important, reams of grotesquely drunk morons littering the streets of a friday or saturday night.  It's just fucking awful isn't it?  Even going into a book shop - the amount of space given to fucking guff by paul mckenna or some no-marks banal autobiography just makes me rather annoyed.  This will all only get worse as the years trundle on, which is what makes it all the more sickening, theirs still new lows to come.  I think the thing I find most annoying about it all isn't the fact that all this guff is penetrating our media, it's the fact that people lap it up, that they actually want things to be like this that I hate the most.  You can't blame the media for giving the idiots what they want.
Well, Friday afternoon beckons....
