Hello there,
Well I was up early this morning to get in to hospital. It was a bit of a pain in the arse, full trains and expensive travelcard but nevermind.  Got in and got my canula in, fairly painlessly thankfully, then downstairs for the scan.  I had to fast for 6 hours beforehand so I was hungry and thirsty but then immediately before the scan you have to gulp down three glasses of water, which isn't easy.  Scan was ok although the injected dye (that makes you feel like you've wet yourself due to the hot flush that runs through you) was actually quite painful, which wasn't pleasant, gets it's the old veins having a whinge.  Got done with that and then it was off to the cafe for a fry up, and very nice it was too.  Lovely tea with tea leaves in the pot and using the strainer, and freshly squeezed orange.  Lovely.  popped to M&S and got myself a nice sports top thing, I'm getting scared, I don't mind some M&S clothing, it isn't a good sign.  Went back to the hospital and had my appointment with my clinical physio type bloke.  He's actually a Kiwi not an Aussie.  He had loads of interesting stuff to show and tell me, he's a lovely lovely bloke but also really fascinating when he talks about the medical science behind all this various exercising.  He owns the company as well, he must be a very nice boss to have as you can see it isn't an act, he is just a nice fella.  he admired my new M&S top and tested my pulse and as usual my oxygen saturation (how does a peg on your finger find that out?) was 100%.  Nurses say it's amazing how it's consistently 100% and he was very impressed too, commenting that even he who works out a lot only has a level of 96/97%.  It must be good hopefully.  He also said how much healthier I'm looking since even the last time he saw me, which is good to hear.  I do look healthier, bit of colour in the cheeks and less jaundice, I just hope the scan has good news.  I have slight pains in my lower lungs which always worry me but I had them the last scan I had and they didn't mention it then.  Hopefully it won't be a big ball of cancer!  It's very rare for it to spread to the lungs so I'm sure it's something innocuous .  But still, it's always at the back of my mind.  But no matter the results the fight goes on.  I'm determined to ramp up the exercises and really get rocking on that front so his 'oxygen therapy' can help out.  I feel so much better having exercised more.  he was saying how frustrating it is that the NHS is very slow to adopt things as this is medically proven to be of benefit in a hundred and one studies yet the NHS, as usual, does ridiculously long laborious tests of their own meaning it is witheld from patients for so long.  Much like photo dynamic therapy, used all over the world and is proven to work with no real side effects yet you can still only get it as a clinical trial on the NHS.  He echoed my liver doctors sentiments saying how incredibly frustrating it is.  He's going to launch his company in New Zealand and Australia and it's accepted as part of the NHS from the off across there because the numerous studies prove it.
Anyway, I'm rambling, he was ace and very interesting.  Think of me tomorrow when I'm getting the results at about twelve, I'll be bricking it.
After exercising I really needed a fart and did a very long and noxious fart in reception which unexpectedly spread EVERYWHERE, it was potent beyond belief but it felt great to get it out as it had been brewing for the whole hours exercise.
No blogs for a few days while I'm in hospital but I'll report back when I'm out.
