The Far SIde cartoon from the other day was topperSaturday, July 21, 2007
Ahoy hoy,
Quiet couple of days here, just waiting for next week and I have to say I'm getting rather nervous about it as my jaundice doesn't appear to be going and the itching is as intense as ever.  The itching is fucking annoying like,  I really really hate it.  You have no idea what it's like to spend hours and hours in bed itching furiously, desperately wanting to sleep but unable to due to the burning itching.  I'm going to ask my liver doctor if he can give me some drug to just put me out at night, valium or summat like that, it would really help at the minute.
I'm rattling through Battlestar Gallactica at the minute, it is far too addictive.
I'm really happy to see one of my favourite posters back on the board. 'Duff' disappeared a while back but has now come back as 'Mr. Duff' and he sent me a PM and we had a bit of a natter.  He's one of those posters I'd really like to meet, he's just a really funny bloke but also one who shares many reading interests with myself.  One day I'll meet up with him hopefully.
My mama and dad visited today, it was grand to see them again.  I do miss them but it can't be helped.  I can't practically get up home at the minute, with all the appointments and stuff, and it'll probably be the case for a while if chemo starts soon, I can't imagine I'll be too keen to travel.
Reading John Gray's new book at the minute, 'Black Mass', it's a very good read so far.  I have him, well, sort of, for me reading all the stuff I have done.  Someone at watersontes in piccadilly accidentally putting his book Straw Dogs in the Military Theory section.  Bought it and it blew my head away, someone writing all about the things I thought about.  I never thought people wrote about such things, I always thought philosophy was a big loud of double talk bullshit and here was a philosophy book that was clear, to the point and I found it incredibly powerful.  It started me reading philosophy and then onto science etc.  I'd still probably be reading military history/theory if it wasn't for that book.  I read an interview with him recently and turns out he's from South Shields.  I especially like the fact he annoys Dawkins followers.
Anyway, I'm off to watch that documentary about Athens.  I wondered what happened to Bettany Hughes after she did that series on the Spartans, good to see her back on telly as she presents well.

series 1 I see from the last time i asked :?

Series 2 is even better tbh - I'll leave it at that given I don't know how far you are through series 1. And then series 3 will quite simply blow you away

iirc series 4 has been given the green light, which is most exciting.
