I'm hungry, as alwaysWednesday, June 27, 2007
Had a CT scan yesterday up at the private hospital.  It was very nice, you're own changing room and lockable locker, those free slippers you get in hotels, a gown that isn't a total dignity holiday, lovely staff, very nice decor...generally just really nice.  The scan was ok, still find the injection you get very weird, it gives contrast to the scans but makes you feel very hot and flushed when it goes in and it really feels like you're pissing yourself as the warm flush goes down the inside of your legs.  Same goes for the arse, feels like warm shit running out of your arse.  Just have to think 'you haven't pissed yourself, you haven't pissed yourself' while it's running through.  They even gave me a CD-ROM of the scan once it was done, how cool is that?  I hope the scan is ok, I'd kinda like to be getting on with treatment soon, whatever it may be.
Watched 'The New World' and it was fucking superb.  I absolutely loved it, the way he shoots nature is beautiful, well, the cinematography in general is superb.  I love Mallick's style (well, I've only seen this and Thin Red Line), the internal monologues and beautifully shot nature scenes.  Some would say it's all very pondering but it really hits the button for me.  He's started a new film called 'tree of life' which apparently he has been planning for years and has been given 100 million to play with but it's all shrouded in secrecy, hope I'm around to see it, whatever it is.   I just want to watch it again, to absorb all the monologues and scenery.
Started racing through my book about Agamemnon, it's a fucking great read so far and it isn't too huge so it should be just right for me.
Anyway, I t hink I might just go and watch 'The New World' again, although the missus wants to see it as she was talking about how affecting she found Thin red line when we went out for a meal last night.  I'm pleased she liked the film because I just absolutely adore it, it affects me so much every time I see it.
Anyway, I'm off swimming this afternoon.
