sorting outThursday, June 7, 2007
Hello again.
Well, I've had a canny few days.  I've had a nurse woman out from the hospice (it's a horrible word but the hospice is there to help with many aspects of care, they aren't just places where people go to die) and she was fantastic.  Going to get some counselling, chat to a chaplain and sort out some complimentary therapies.  I can call them any time when I'm in pain or whatever and they will come out to visit.  I was really pleased she was so lovely and provided so much information and she got straight on to getting me a better drug to combat the itching from my liver disease, sorted it in a matter of hours.  Also popped in to Bromley and have a date to get married now.  Going to be two weeks on friday, obviously just a registry office thing but it will be magic to call Liz my wife and for her to have me as a husband.  We will have a party another day and possibly a separate blessing with it.  Hopefully if I get through this thing we can renew our vows down in Port Lympne like we originally intended.  I really do want to get through this, I dream all the time of me and Liz living in the country looking after homeless animals, it would be perfect....just perfect.
anyway, I have to be off

All the best fellaThursday, June 7, 2007
I'll buy a hat and wear it to the office :)

Speaking of which, your second sentence feels like it was lifted out of some bumf I'm currently writing. Hope you don't mind if I give a shameless plug to www.helpthehospices.org.uk because we're mint.

Can I just say muppetThursday, June 7, 2007
that the hospice have been absolutely superb so far. I have so many appointments set up with so many different people, for me and the missus, that it has just been amazing. The woman from the hospice only visited yesterday and yet she has already sorted out some new itching control medication for me (had it done yesterday afternoon) and has referred me to the welfare officer, the counsellor, and the chaplain, all of who are visiting in this next week. I've been so impressed by the speed of events, it is a massive contrast to the 'do nothing until you poke them with a big stick' hospital liaisons. My sister manages a volunteer bureau up home and told me they would be good after having dealings with hospices up home and so it has proved, really, really impressed and it has made me feel so positive having all these steps taken so soon.
