hello there,
I'm feeling pretty good today. My sister went hunting and found a PSC support group website, she gave me the number of a doctor to speak to who she had rang and said was dead canny. I gave him a bell and had a good natter with him. He was a smashing fella. his son has PSC so he has reasons for focusing his efforts on it. He assured me that it was incredibly rare for them not to be able to get the tube in so I shouldn't worry about it. That was a relief to hear. He also chatted on about how he was trying to raise awareness of it but said because it is a predominantly male disease it doesn't get the recognition it deserves. He also told me stuff about changing my diet that no one had mentioned in hospital, which he was very surprised about. He gave me lots of info and leads to follow for the future so I was pleased about that. He said to call him to chat any time I wanted to, which was very very nice of him, he was a good bloke.
Anyways, the bed manager will be phoning shortly and I can go in any time before 8 so I'm all packed up and ready for my stay. I'm looking forward to seeing my mam and sister on friday, they are travelling down to see me.
Hopefully I'll have a blog up over the weekend or something |
