I should clean the bathroom reallyMonday, April 9, 2007
Hello there,
well, what have I been doing?  Not a lot would be the quick answer to that one.  I've had a very relaxing weekend.  Well, by relaxing, I really mean lazy.  I was going to pop in to town on Saturday for a book shop but I just couldn't be arsed.  I've spent a fair bit of time up at the park.  So lovely up there, it's one of my favourite spots on a sunny day.  Woods a short distance away and watching the golfers pitch up to the hole while reading a decent book.  Watching all the nice dogs going past....heavenly.  If only the seats were more comfy, I could easily have had a nice kip up there on a couple of the days.   Only slightly spoiled by a family of fucknuts on one of the days playing songs out of their fucking mobile.  Cunts.  They packed in after a wee while though so not so bad.  Reading a book on Alexander the Great and also a history of Americas eugenics program that inspired the Nazis.  Watched 'Come and See' the other night, the incredibly bleak russian film about Nazis laying waste to villages in western russia.  It was as bleak as expected really, seeing this young lad being posted off to the partisans as his whole world is destroyed.  Very haunting at one point when he takes one of the girls from the partisan camp out of the woods and back to his village but no one is around, he assumes they have gone to the island in the middle of the marshes and as they are running the girl looks back to see a pile of naked bodies stacked up at the side of one house.  Must have been fucking shit to live then.  there's no redemption or anything in the film, the lad doesn't even fire his gun through it, as the cover quote says 'war as hollywood would never portray it'
I think my liver is slowly improving.  Slowly.  Got all depressed today when I  did a little bit shopping with the missus, tried a shirt on and looked in the mirror and my eyes looked fucking terrible.  Still, you've got to live with your lot and get on with it.
Asked the missus if she would consider Downe when we come to buy  a place, she said she'd already been saving ads form there.  I love Downe, really lovely little place with some nice walks roundabout but still quite close to transport.  Odd to think of Darwin knocking about Downe.
