Letter to RTG

Its not often we publish letters these days, but I feel the following one is worthy of reproducing here, not particularly for the nice comments directed to RTG (which its always good to get), but read on and its further proof that the Board and Management of SAFC are starting to get things right:

Dear All

As a Sunderland supporter since 1958 I wish to thank you for your excellent reporting of all things Sunderland, yours is the first site I go to for the concise and entertaining reports. Particularly I would like you to pass on to John aka Herts my thanks for the superb reports, particularly the wonderful sense of humour that is typical North Eastern, slightly understated but with that cutting cynical edge to it, fantastic, thanks for spending your time sharing your thoughts and keep those reports coming next season they’re the highlight of my week whatever the result.

As for next season as John rightly says we are being given a second chance, I gave up my season ticket 4 years ago in disgust I couldn’t cope with the depression generated by the way we rolled over giving points away to mediocre teams without a fight, I was brought up on Roker Park being a fortress with 40,000 plus crowds the normality, the overpaid prima donnas at the club in our last two premiership seasons didn’t deserve to wear the Sunderland shirt we love.

However I did buy a season ticket for next year only because everything coming from the management and board is honest and reassuring and totally professional, I trust Quinn and Keane, they are both honest and trustworthy something you would never have said of Murray and Reid. Mistakes will be made but if their apparent love for our club is as genuine as it seems to be then with their strong moral codes of what is right and wrong we will eventually be back in our rightful place as a premier English team.

This is the best position overall this club has been in for 70 years (for which I do give credit to Bob Murray for the great ground and training facilities), so lets get behind the team and once again make our home ground a feared place for visiting teams.

Keep up the great work you do.

Regards,

Tony Reynolds
