We have won nothing yet

Whilst most Sunderland fans would consider this season a major success regardless of the results this coming Sunday, messrs Quinn and Keane have sent out a clear message that we are only just starting the journey.

The City of Sunderland had offered the team an open-topped bus ride through the City followed by a civic reception to recognise the "success".

In the past this may have been jumped upon by the club, but instead, this year they have declined the offer. The clear message coming from the club is that we have a long way to go yet before we are successful.

There is a whole new mindset at work.

Maybe you'll let the players have a bus ride when they win The Treble Roy?

Darren Ward Announces Retirement

Darren Ward has announced his retirement from international football, requesting not to be considered for the Wales squad.

Wales Manager John Toshack said "Darren has told me he would prefer not to be considered, it is his decision so I will respect it and look elsewhere

"He would have been in contention, considering that Danny Coyne is not in the side at the moment at Burnley."
