Brentford FC: Away travel guide

RTG’s totally and utterly (we hope) indispensable guide to this season’s away grounds.


THE OPPO – Brentford FC ("the Bees")
DATE – Saturday 28/ January
KO TIME – 3pm

THE GROUND – Griffin Park – click here and here for maps of the area - the red circle shows where the ground is.

Away supporters are accommodated in the Ealing Road end of the ground - this is terraced but open to the elements....no roof at all. A small number of away supporters are seated in block A of the adjacent Braemar Road stand.

STADIUM CAPACITY 12,400

AWAY TICKET ALLOCATION Varies.

TICKETS

Season ticket holders have until 5.30pm on Thursday 19 January to apply, using voucher 24.

General sale will commence at 10am on Monday 23 January, subject to availablility.

A limited number of seats are available, priced at £17 adults, £12 senior citizens, £3 children.

All other tickets are for uncovered terracing, priced at £12 adults, £6 senior citizens, £3 children.

Tickets for the seated area will be allocated to applicants with the highest number of loyalty points unless standing is specifically requested.

Please leave cheque amounts blank due to the differing prices of tickets.

GOING BY CAR?

From Sunderland take the A690 then A1/A1(M) southbound then M1 southbound.
Leave M1 at jcn 6A and follow signs for M25 westbound.
Leave M25 at jcn 15 and take M4 eastbound.
Leave M4 at jcn 2 and take slip road onto the A4.
Take the 4th exit from the roundabout at the bottom of the slip road, onto Chiswick High Road/Kew Bridge Road.
Go straight on for a short distance until the junction/lights (Kew Bridge Junction).
Keep in lane for the A315 and go straight on, towards The Plough.
After half a mile turn right at the lights into Ealing Road - the ground is on your left.

Secure parking is available at the Equinox Car Park on Ealing Road for £5 per vehicle (turning into Ealing Rd off the A4, which is open and staffed from 11.30am until 7.30pm.

GOING BY TRAIN?

Assuming the match is played on a Saturday:
The 0700 GNER service from Newcastle will get you into London Kings Cross just after 10am, then get the tube to Waterloo. From there, the 11.07 South West Trains service gets to Brentford just after 11.30am; the station is only about 500 yards away from the ground.

Going home, there are GNER services leaving Kings Cross for Newcastle at 7pm, 7.30, 8.30pm and 9.10pm.

SPREAD YOUR WINGS...

You could even fly - at the time of compiling this guide, it was possible to book an Easyjet flight from Newcastle to Stanstead for £12.99 and a return flight that evening for £17.99. The Stanstead Express train can drop you at in London at Tottenham Hale (as well as Liverpool St) and from there it's a tube ride to South Ealing. British Airways also fly from Newcastle to both Gatwick and Heathrow.

The nearest hotel to the ground is the Travelodge at Kew Bridge, Brentford High Street.

WHERE TO DRINK

Brentford FC has a pub at every corner of the ground; the Royal Oak, The Griffin, The Princess Royal and The New Inn. The Magpie & Crown, a few minutes walk away on Brentford High Street, is a good one for real ale.

LEND US A FIVER I’M OUT OF CASH

There are ATMs in Kings Cross station. Other than that, there's a Barclays at 208 High Street and a NatWest at 100 High Street. The Princess Royal pub also has its own ATM indoors but there's a £1.50 charge.

Sunderland play Brentford away in FAC 4th Round

The draw for the 4th round proper of the FA Cup has just been made, and Sunderland will play Brentford.

The tie will be played on either Saturday 28th or Sunday 29th January; winning clubs at this stage will each receive £60,000 prize money.

Ticket news will be announced on RTG's Ticket News Page as soon as it becomes available.
