Wimbledon v SAFC match postponed

Sunderland's progression to the FA Cup quarter finals means that our forthcoming fixture against Wimbledon, scheduled for Saturday 6th March, is postponed, as the quarter final will be played the following day.

Tickets already purchased for the original date will be valid for the rearranged fixture, or supporters can claim a refund on production of their tickets.

As soon as SAFC confirm the rearranged date for this fixture, we'll publish details on RTG's news index.

Sunderland through to FA Cup Quarter Finals

Sunderland have defeated Birmingham City for the second time in a row to progress through to the FA Cup Quarter Finals to face Sheffield United at the Stadium of Light.

The last time Sunderland went as far as the Quarter Finals was 1992, when we untimately went as far as the final at Wembley, only to lose 2-0 to Liverpool in the FA Cup final.

Two goals from Tommy Smith - who ironically put us out of the competition at the 5th round stage last season - condemned the Blues to failure, against the bookies' odds.

In a hard-fought contest, both sides ended the first 90 minutes 0-0, but Smith scored on 99 minutes, then sparked an exodus of Blues' supporters with his second on 115 minutes.

The quarter final match against Sheffield will be shown live on Sky TV on Sunday 7th March with a 4.05pm kickoff - ticket details will be added to our ticket news section as soon as they become available.
