Healy good enough for LUFC trial - but not a friendly
Leeds manager Peter Reid has persuaded Sunderland target Colin Healy to join the Elland Road team on a week's trial - but obviously doesn't think he's good enough to take part in the team's final pre-season friendly while he's with them.
LUFC face Unibond Premier Division side Harrogate Town tonight, and although Healy accepted Reid's offer of a week's trial with the former SAFC boss seemingly keen on signing the former Celtic man, Healy has not been included in the squad for tonight's match at Wetherby Road.
David Batty, who wasn't selected to represent Leeds in the Dublin Tournament 2003 last weekend, is selected - as is former Newcastle player Didier Domi, on loan to Leeds from PSG.
A move to Sunderland for Healy has still not been ruled out, with FIFA still to rule on whether or not Celtic would be due compensation for the 23 year old. Healy has already agreed terms and passed a medical for Sunderland.
Fulham's Reyna interest: it's not just paper talk
In the course of a season, every club is linked with loads of players; although some of these moves do happen, many never happen, and most are just rumour and paper talk to fill tabloid column inches.
But following all the speculation that Fulham are interested in Claudio Reyna, we can reveal that this one's not just an idle rumour or paper talk - it's fact; Captain America could well be leaving the Stadium of Light.
We've received confirmation today from Sunderland AFC that Reyna and his agent are indeed involved in discussions with Fulham FC, although no fee has yet been agreed.
SAFC say that negotiations are "ongoing" and will give us an update if there are any developments.
