Home Kit on-sale tomorrow

With the first home game of the Barclays Premier League season just three weeks away (August 25th v. Reading), Sunderland AFC is offering fans a once in a lifetime to be pictured alongside their heroes.

To celebrate the launch of the new 2012/13 home kit, which goes on sale at 8am on Thursday 9th August, every purchaser will receive a free scarf that normally costs £8(while stocks last) and a personal invitation to pose alongside the Sunderland first team squad for the ‘Biggest Team Photo’ at the Stadium of Light during October half-term.



This opportunity marks the first season that Sunderland’s kit has been produced in partnership with new technical partner, adidas and the club is hoping that thousands of fans will take up the invitation to appear in the photo. Everyone who attends will also receive their own commemorative copy to treasure forever.



Sunderland AFC captain Lee Cattermole said: “The players love the new home kit and the idea of getting team and supporters together for an official 2012/13 season photograph is brilliant.



He continues, “We know how much the red and white stripes mean to our fans and by getting fans and players together for this one-off photo we;’ll be able to show them just how much their support means to us.”



The new home kit is available in the three official stores across Sunderland - the SAFC Store at the Stadium of Light, Debenhams in The Bridges, Sunderland and The Galleries, Washington.



Tomorrow families can enjoy a free family Footy Fun Day, organised by the Foundation of Light, from 10.30am to 3pm, which will include skills sessions, mini matches, the Soccer Speedcage and football freestylers.
