Sunderland Supporters' Trust - a response

RTG recently hosted a poll for the proposed Sunderland Supporters' Trust so that the SST steering committee could get an idea of supporters' views on the idea of a Trust. Their response is as follows:

"We would like to thank everyone who has participated in our poll and thread regarding the potential of establishing a supporters Trust at Sunderland. Your interest is greatly appreciated, and all views and votes have proven valuable.

"We now intend to review and reflect upon this feedback, and encourage further discussion with existing supporter groups.

"We simply do not know where this may lead, but we are encouraged by the trend suggested by the voting and comments left on the SMB.

"We would like to invite anyone with further interest to view our fledgling website which is currently under construction (www.sunderlandsupporterstrust.co.uk). We have a home page and contact details for the group. If you want to know more about our work to date or perhaps send us your views or even get involved this is the place to go.

"Although as we have stressed previously, we are only the steering group for a potential Sunderland Supporters Trust, we already abide by the policies of openness and democracy that a full blown Supporters’ Trust must adhere to. You are more than welcome to contribute your views and help steer the development of the group.

"We will continue to keep you informed of our progress and thinking, be it via forums, ALS or other avenues.

"Finally we would like to reiterate that this group is positive in its outlook, we want the same as you … a thriving, successful club and a community which reflects and supports this."
