Stadium of White - Protest on Boxing Day

Sunderland fans will attempt to turn the Stadium of Light into the Stadium of White as a show of protest against the club’s poor performance at the match against Bolton on Boxing Day

Protest organiser Ian Hutchinson is urging fans to take along and wave white items such as paper and towels fifteen minutes after kick-off in a manner similar to that used as displays of dissatisfaction by fans of continental clubs.

Ian asks all fans to protest, whether their grievance is with the Board, the Manager or the Players, it is clear that the club is not performing to our satisfaction and we as fans need to make a statement. We love our club, but we don't like what is happening to it.

He is hoping for a carnival atmosphere, and that at the same time as protesting, Sunderland fans can urge the players on and sing in the way that only they can to lift the team.
