Nyron Nosworthy - the details

The club have confirmed the signing of defender Nyron Nosworthy from Gillingham.

The 24-year-old, who was the Gills’ regular right-back last season, has signed a two year contract.

Nosworthy said: “It feels very nice to be here and means a lot. I’m quite calm at the moment – it hasn’t sunk in yet that I’m a Premier League player! When I’m introduced to the rest of the lads next month it will be different, but I’m looking forward to it.”

Mick McCarthy commented: “We’re delighted to have signed Nyron, who joins the club as an experienced defender despite his relatively young age. I’m sure he will provide Stephen Wright with strong competition for the right-back berth next season.”

Nosworthy played 37 league games for the Kent club last season.
