Poom: ANOTHER op!

The club confirmed today that Mart Poom has had an operation on his knee.

The Estonian international had been reported to be fully fit again after missing most of Sunderland's promotion season, but has had to withdraw from Estonia's side that will play in World Cup qualifiers next week.

The club said, "Mart was suffering from an infection in his knee and has simply had it washed out; it's nothing serious and shouldn't hinder his rehabilitation."
