Aston Villa LFC 0 - 3 Sunderland AFC Women

Match played at Sutton Coldfield Town FC

With only 4 games left in the run in, an away fixture against a strong mid table side had 'bendy yellow fruit peel' littered about it.

Fortunately then, after two unconvincing away performances had yielded close wins, the Black Cats put together one of their strongest and complete team performances of the season.

Sunderland were dominant in every area of the field and on a pitch that showed only faint memories of harbouring grass, they still managed to play some fine attacking football.

England U19 striker Stephanie Houghton hit all three goals (20, 60, 72) in a scoreline that flattered the Villains.

With three games left, Wolves are the nearest title challengers. They are 15 points behind with 4 games in hand, including a game at the Academy of Light on the 3rd April.

Next Sunday's game at Stockport has been postponed due to Stockport's involvement in the County Cup
