Brighton 2 SAFC 1 - Mick's view

There was no surprise by Brighton's shape, I expected them to match us with a 4-4-2 formation.

The game wasn't going anywhere until we lost the ball and they get a deflected goal.

That was disappointing but it's the second goal that has killed us, when we're not marking from a corner kick.

Their sending off should have worked in our favour. Had we come off 1-0 at half-time instead of giving a stupid goal away not marking, which is unforgivable, it could have been a different story.

They were very committed. It would appear more than us in both boxes because McCammon scored off a header unmarked and we didn't.

We had lots of play; they worked hard to stop us and it's disappointing to come away having lost.

It was too little too late for us. We have to give them a bit of credit for the way they defended. The biggest disappointiment was giving away two goals.

They were very committed from the start, that's perhaps why they were down to 10 men because of the two challenges. Brighton have earned the points today.

We lacked a bit of quality and got chased and pressured into not playing our normal football. We gave it away too often. The game was going nowhere until the first goal.

I've no qualms with the effort from my players, we just lacked the normal quality.

I know Wigan have won and we can't do anything about that. We've got to show what we're made of and win the next two home games.
