Saturday too soon for Robinson's return

Midfielder Carl Robinson says he is unlikely to return to action for Saturday's match against West Ham.

Robinson recently underwent surgery on his broken nose but is still experiencing some soreness, and is understandably reluctant to risk any further injury to his nose in competitive action.

Robinson told SAFC's official website, "My nose is still a bit sore. The bridge of my nose is solid, but the tip is painful because I’ve picked up a little infection. My daughter likes the reaction when she pinches my nose, but I don't laugh as much as she does!"

"I want to play against West Ham. Who wouldn't? I want to be involved in the big games like this.

"But I don't know if it will come too soon. If I come back too quickly and get another knock it could put me out for six to eight weeks.

"We have a testing period coming up with a lot of games over Christmas and New Year and the gaffer is going to need everyone fit for that. I have to be sensible about it.

"The gaffer and I will have a sit down and chat and the physio will have an input. I'll train this week and see how it goes."
